Hi there,
The general bodyache and the joint pains which follow the "chikungunya " will last for many days. In some people it lasts for 3-4 months.
dont worry...
"Meftal forte" is supposed to be safe..but dont take for more than 3 tabs per day.. It contains "mefenamic acid and paracetamol" !
So no problems, if you take once in a while..
"Mefenamic acid", since it is "acid", may cause ulcerations if taken in excess..thats all...
But "meftal plus" contains "paracetamol" also, which if you take more than 3 gms per day, can damage the liver..
Takecare.. wishing you a speedy cure..
best wishes...

Chikungnya
Chikungunya virus occurs in the East, Central and South Africa and in India and south-east Asia. It is the cause of an acute dengue-like pyrexia of sudden onset, associated with intense joint and muscle pains and a rash. In African epidemics case fatality was minimal but the virus has since been found in Thailand associated with a severe haemorrhagic fever, in which the dengue viruses also were involved and also in India. The name of the virus derives from an African language word meaning 'the thing causing bending up', from the contorted position of patients induced by joint pains.
How is chikungunya virus infection treated?
No vaccine or specific antiviral treatment for chikungunya fever is available. Treatment is symptomatic--rest, fluids, and ibuprofen, naproxen, acetaminophen, or paracetamol may relieve symptoms of fever and aching. Aspirin should be avoided
Infected persons should be protected from further mosquito exposure (staying indoors and/or under a mosquito net during the first few days of illness) so that they can't contribute to the transmission cycle.
Please see the web page for more details on Chikungunya.

RE:
What's the cure for Chikungunya affected person having Diabetes?
Because ever after one month of affected by the disease, severe pain remains in Joints and hands. Only Pain killer such as 'Meftal Forte' relieves the pain and many say that too much of its consumption might lead to stomach wound.

For after effects of chikungunya in homeopathy you take bryonia (30) 3 pills in the morning , 3 pills in the afternoon and 3 pills in the night before having your food similarly take rhus.tox (30) 3 pills in morning, 3 pills in afternoon and 3 pills in the night after food for 3 to 4 days or till all the after effects are subsided. You can get these medicines in any homeopathy shop and you have to ask them 1 dram pills of bryonia(30) and 1 dram pills of rhus.tox(30) and they will give you two bottles of pills. This medicine is very safe ( even for diabetics) and has no side effects and will certainly cure your problem.

The after-effects of Chikungunya can be treated symptomatically, joint pains being the major issue.
They are treated by giving anti-inflamatory drugs rofecoxib/valdicoxib, which again are to be given SOS.
The afore mentioned drugs are quite safe for the GIT and can be used in diabetic patients.
Please consider an actual doctor before considering the treatment.
