The Islamic position is that Moses, Jesus and Mohammed were all prophets of the same religion. The differences that we see between the teachings today are because the words of both Moses and Jesus have been distorted.
I do not find the argument convincing as the teachings of Jesus are not different in detail but in their whole nature. The teachings of Mohammed are a rule-based religion. I can accept that if this same religion was preached before Muhammed that some of the rules might get distorted. So, for example, we may have Jesus turning water into grape juice that is mistranslated/distorted into Jesus producing wine. That would seem a reasonable proposition - for a set of laws to get distorted.
However Jesus taught a religion that was fundamentally non-rule based: its a religion of love and faith not law and rules. The entire character of Jesus' teachings would have to have been changed for Him to have preached Islam and yet Christianity be the result. This does not require the distortion of His teachings: it requires that the whole thing be totally fabricated. This does not seem to me to be such a reasonable propostion and I conclude that there are significant differences between the basis of Christianity and the basis of Islam.
Now this brings us back to your point, and I think it is an argument against the truth of Muhammed's teachings. If Christianity and Islam came from the same divine source the later religion would be of fundamentally the same structure as the earlier. As this is not the case Islam, the latter religion, cannot just be a restatement of Christianity. As Islam claims, as part of its fundamental beleifs, so to be Islam cannot be correct.

This is a very clear Message in the Holy Qur'an that the Religion from Adam to Muhammad and for ever thereafter is Islam. That means, submission to Allah. Christ was also a Muslim and shall rise among the Muslims. St. Paul may have started a 'new' religion! All Christians at the time of St.Paul did NOT agree with him and continue to disagree with him to this day. The majority considered such groups as 'heretics', may be the majority is heretic.. !

Muhammad was not from the same God as Jesus,
Muhammed taught and founded a religion in direct contradiction to Christ.
Sadly the Muslims dishonestly claim Jesus as a Muslim prophet but only a casual examination of that claim reveals it to be a dishonest lie.
All the previous prophets in the Bible testified and pointed to the promised, coming Christ and John the Baptist was the last prophet who made ready the people and announced and pointed out Christ, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.
What need is there for anything further when the Son of God Himself is revealed ?
Now that He has paid for our sins and won acceptance for us with God how can anything further be added ?
There is none greater than God himself. Since Christ has given to us direct communion with God what need is there for anything else ?
Did Muhammad found a religion out of envy ?

1. Mohammad never proclaimed to be God, but a humble human and a messenger of the words of God. No righteous man would claim to be God, except if that person is a demon or guided by the demon himself.
2. No new religion was brought. All prophets, including Moses, Jesus, Mohammad, Solomon, (who by the way is considered a prophet by Moslems, but not by Jews)David, Jonas, etc. carried the same basic message from God. That to worship and watch out for the one and only God to all humanity and to do go and abstain from doing evil. That's why we have many prophets, as a demonstration of God's mercy towards the newer generations who may have been unaware of the teachings of the older prophets. Once God guaranteed that the verses revealed to Mohammad will not be altered, there was no need to send any new messenger and all mankind was required to follow the teachings of this last apostle. People who hate him do so for reasons of feelings superior and because they find it difficult to accept that a prophet would be chosen among the population of a harsh and barren desert. However, God has his reasons and we humans should be humble enough to accept them if the basic message relates to our own being and conciensce.

Allah brought judaism, which was once basically the same thing as Islam. PEOPLE corrupted that, so he had to send down the message again, ie through Christianity (again the same thing as Islam, which was also than corrupted, and so Islam was brought down. We do not change anything from the Quran, so it is pure and is the truth. Christians have changed the Bible so it is not the same as it once was. So how can a religion be right if it is changed by society?

Jesus was born a Jew, from the house of David. He was not happy with the way the Jews were conducting themselves. His teachings tried to bring them back into the correct path. The markets being held within the synagogue were against Jewish religeous laws. He did not say at any time that he was the son of God. The coming of Mohammed confirmed all that was written before in the Bible
For example, we read in the New Testament a reiteration of one of the Ten Commandments:
“And Jesus answered him. The first of all commandments is hear, 0 Israel; the Lord our God is one Lord” (Mark 12:29)

Judaism . christiamity and islam all hav ethe same god. what is in the bible is in the torah and what is in the bible and in the torah is in the koran.
the kora is the last holy book sent by god, and it does say in the koran that it is the last one. the koran came to finalize the 2 religions. islam does believe in jesus as a prohet but not as a son of god. islam says that the bible was modified over the years and its meaning as well. If like peopke say the koran was writtem by mohammed then he would have been indeed a very clever man to write all this. he could not read and write and was not educated enough to have all these knowledge. in tha tcase the bible was written by a man as well. some people could say why did god sent 3 books and not one? may be he wanted to test people. BUt if you take time to study islam you will see that no one can write the koran even a very clever person.

The beginning of Islam was when Muhammed was living in a cave and an Angel of light appeared and told him of this "new" religion... The bible says Satan appears as an Angel Of Light.... Conclusion... Same God, but Muhammad was fooled by Satan and created a religion that is corrupt and man made, whereas, jewish and christian beliefs are based on the one and only word of God. That being said... Both sides have made horrible mistakes and committed horible crimes in the practice of their respective "religions"

God sent about 124,000 prophets to guide every nation. Of those, we know of about 25 mentioned in the Quran including Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad (pbut).
Muhammad was the last of the messengers and gave us the final words from God preseved in the Quran (the last testament).
And they say, "Be Jews or Christians, then you will be guided." Say (to them, O Muhammad Peace be upon him ), "Nay, (We follow) only the religion of Ibrahim (abraham), Hanifa (Islamic Monotheism, i.e. to worship none but Allah (Alone)), and he was not of Al-Mushrikoon (those who worshipped others along with Allah - see V.2:105)."
