Well, most of them are frauds. Thats something almost everyone chooses to overlook.

Take Sister Theresa for example. She was made a saint because of her "good works" which consisted of watching people die without medical attention so she could have a better understanding of the death of Jesus, among other things. Anyone who knows what her "hospitals" were like tell the same horror stories of apathy and neglect given to her patients.

When she died, the Pope changed the criteria for sainthood from 2 post mortem miracles to 1. The miracle that got her sainthood was the "miraculous" healing of a woman, whose husband claims that she was paid by the church to say it was the work of dear departed Mamma T. He has produced a number of medical bills proving that his wife was healed by modern medicine, and not by some withered dead crone.

If you study the stories of saints in depth, you will find that this sort of thing is actually S.O.P. for the Catholic Church. There is either no evidence, as is the case for many of the older saints, or there is enough evidence against the saints to cast a reasonable doubt on the practice of sainthood.

The fact that they all came from different walks of life and different circumstances. They all walked this earth as imperfect regular human beings.
I always wondered though, who gave HUmans the right to make anyone a saint? Shouldnt God know that and he alone choose them?
