Bugs can survive anywhere including very cold places.I was raised in the far north of Canada. If you had bed bugs you would notice blood streaks on your sheets in the morning and be able to find the critters during the day in cracks and crevices of the bed and room.Use a flashlight and check that out. Is it possible you have something that is called "winter itch?" All that means is that your skin has become very ,very dry from the cold.Moisturize +++ will help if that is the case. Fleas are another distinct possibility and thorough vaccuuming and using a residual spray will take care of that. LOL.

From what you have said and described, my first inclination would be to suggest scabies. They usually start as tiny red circular spots which itch like crazy, usually worse at night. They are most common in places like waistband areas, and where the legs of undies hit, bra straps, and such. If you stayed in a hotel, hostel, or gasthaus, you could have gotten them there. You need to go see the doctor. If you have a spot you can avoid scratching, he can scrape it and look under the microscope, and tell you within a few minutes if that is your problem. If it is, you will get a body shampoo for it that will kill them, and your boyfriend will need to be treated as well. Scabies don't bite exactly, they burrow under the skin. I was military stationed in several places in Europe, as a medic, and they were pretty common trouble with folks staying downtown. Bedbugs aren't unheard of, but were much less common. At any rate, go see the doctor and get treated. It's a quick enough cure if that's what it is, and you will feel a lot better for it.

the cold outside will not kill bedbugs. I think you start with a flashlight and look for them around your bed. They are more common thanb people think. Hotels and stuff have them. They are a pain to get rid of, and you need a real exterminator if you have them. I saw a show on them, and they say when you travel, they can be in your suitcase, and you should take your bags, and immediatly wash all your clothes in hot water, and keep the suitcases OUT of the bedroom, like in the garage or laundry room. good luck

If it's cold then you would turn up the heating, yes?
Well bed bugs & fleas liketo come up & bites peoples asses when it's nice & hot! Fleas prefere female blood to male blood so if your boyfriend is being bitten as well then it could be bed bugs. Buy some spray from a vet clinic & follow the instructions!

It's possible that you have a STD. Have yourself checked for herpes.
