I can tell you the answer to that easily, you become a binge alcoholic. I know, I am a recovering alcoholic of 8 years. Binge drinking is how I started. I could go for months, sometimes years, and not want to get drunk. But when I wanted to drink, I wanted to get drunk, to the point of passing out. When we are drunk, as you probably know, you can have ALL KINDS OF FUN! That otherwise you wouldn't have, because of too many inhibitions. Well, that becomes the addiction. It starts out you just want to turn off your brain, you've had enough of the stresses of life, and you just want it to got away, and forget for a little while. Well is what happens, those times of wanting to get drunk, gets closer and closer! Instead of months, it becomes weeks, then it becomes days, and then pretty soon, you have to have something to go to sleep with, to get up to, to unwind. When we become alcoholic, you don't have to have a reason to drink, you just want "the feeling." Binge drinking is very dangerous! It is the beginning stages of alcoholism. If there is any alcoholism in your family, or if there is any Native American blood in you, you becoming an alcoholic is even higher. Alcoholism is hereditary! We that are Native American, metabolize alcohol differently, causing us to become addicted easier. If you are a binge drinker now, you won't be a year, 5 years or less from now. Alcoholism is a progressive disease, and it progresses differently for different people. Get yourself to AA if you are already binge drinking,. It seems to innocent when you first start binge drinking. I didn't even have hangovers, and I could drink everyone under the table, and not even tell I had drank. So my advice, if you are binge drinking now, STOP and go to AA before you become a chronic or acute alcoholic.
