Probable causes are decayed teeth, infected tonsils or stomach disorders. I think if you look into these areas, you will find a solution to your problem. Wishing you good luck.

Brush your teeth and tongue several time per day
floss once per day (nasty bacteria grows between the teeth, and if you never floss, it can cause bad breath)
gargle to loosen guck in throat
DO NOT use mints that contain sugar---that may be your problem. Bacteria love sugar, and if your mints are not sugar-free, you are just feeding them and causing worse breath.
Drink enough water each day - helps keep saliva thin and better at getting rid of bacteria.
If you do all those things, and don't notice an improvment after a couple of weeks, check with a doctor to see if you might have a sinus or throat infection, which can cause bad breath.

First of all, it's time to see your dentist. If you brush and floss on a daily basis, you should only have bad breath occasionally, such as when you eat offensive foods like garlic bread or onions. Sometimes an upset stomach will cause bad breath as well. See your dentist first, if nothing is resolved there, a trip to the doctor is in order to see if you have intestinal problems.

u can have smelly breath if u re smoking. especially in the mornings. even if u brashed, flossed and rinsed. and i happened to see in a pharmacy some special products which are stronger than ones sold in average shops. also dentist can prescribe u even stronger wash. as i obviously live in another country i have different names. u might ask in pahrmacy. and i also happened to notice that those mints maybe help with breath first minutes, but then as they dehidrate your mouth breath starts smelling bad. it is the lack of saliva or bacterias which cause bad smell. so u also might ask in pharmacies they have special drugs which cause production of more saliva

A dentist should be your first port of call ..... If all is good there, you must visit your doctor to rule out any infections or digestive problems.
good luck :)
