Sorry I don't know the origin of the recipe, I just know it's delicious, and my family loves it. Already you can see there are different versions of this recipe. Mine is different from the first two answers you have, and is also known as "Poppy Seed Chicken". If you try it, you'll be hooked! :)))

8 to 10 chicken breasts, cooked and cubed
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can cream of chicken soup
8 ounces sour cream
1/2 cup slivered almonds
1 stack (sleeve) Ritz crackers, crushed
1 stick butter, melted
2 tablespoons poppy seeds

Combine chicken, soups, sour cream and almonds, and pour in bottom of casserole dish. Sprinkle poppy seeds on top, and then cover with crushed crackers on top of that. Drizzle melted butter on top of everything, and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
