Buy a jar of marinade (lots to chose from)
Wash and dry chicken with paper towel.
Put in a big bowl
Pour in the sauce and coat the chicken well.
Cover with cling film and place in the fridge.
The longer you let it marinade the more effective the flavour, and colour.

You can marinate for as muych time as you have available. Tandoori chicken pastes are mixed with yogurt and left for as long as possible - best overnight - in the fridge, before cooking. YOu can then cook the chicken under the grill and then add to your curry.

If you have a food saver... that sucks all the air out of what ever you put in the bags, marinades it in like 15 minutes. I think they are getting reasonably priced now (75 to 100 at wal mart where they use to be over 200). We used them for buying in bulk and separating all the meats into more meal sized bags, keeps from getting freezer burn, and you can reuse the bags if you make them long enough and cut them open right at the seam.

tandoori paste is easy to make and is very red, just mix with plain yoghurt, tandoori powder, lemon juice, stir, throw in the chicken and leave to marinate for a good few hours, or overnight in the fridge is even better!! good luck with that!
