Cat lovers - what can we do about all the cat-hating sickos out there?

Question

By out there, I mean both throughout the world as well as on Yahoo answers.

And why are there so many of them asking/answering questions in the Cats section of Yahoo? There are nowhere near as many sick questions and answers in the other Pet categories. What is it about cats that seems to bring out the psycho in so many people?

I love cats and have always had them in my life and always will. If people don't like cats why can't they just ignore them? I do understand that some people get annoyed by other people's cats doing their business in their gardens - but there are plenty of safe, effective and above all HUMANE ways of deterring them.

I always vote down the sicko questions and answers and report them for abuse but I still feel impotent and fervently wish I could do more. Anyone any ideas? (I have reported one "person" to the RSPCA in the fervent hope that he can be traced - see my recent answer). But beyond that?

I am also from the UK - I must say I think a lot of cruelty to cats and dogs could be stopped by banning airguns and fireworks (sale to general public - displays ok) - they just play into the hands of the sickos.

I have only known 2 people who owned airguns and both of them freely admitted to shooting cats.

Unfortunately I was too young to think about doing anything about them - if someone told me that now I would report them straight away.

Being a cat lover all my life I know there are family and friends that don't like cats....BUT it is the immature sicko's that really need to grow-up. I've reported a few real sick questions and find these individuals are not saying any thing any more. I don't hate dogs but they are not my preferred pet, so I should say bad things about dog owners? I hardly think so. I know how frustrated you must feel when you hear horrific things being said about doing to cats, but realize some of it is just a "FUN" way to upset people. Only thing that truly scares me is when there is real suspicion that an individual is harming a poor defenseless animal of any type. IT IS SAD TO SAY WE LIVE IN A WORLD FULL OF SICK MINDED PEOPLE WHO HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO DO THAN MAKE OTHERS UNHAPPY. Just do your best to remember in the USA we cat lovers outnumber the dog lovers, now there's hope. Oh by the way I have a tuxedo kitty named "Mickey Mouse" and a Maine Coon named "Precious" I've had many others until their last day but all were cared for with lot of love.

I think that some people answer just to get a rise out of others. Some are just sick. There isn't much we can do online when they answer, but to report them to yahoo if they disobey community guidelines in anyway, and give them the thumbs down, which they don't care anyway. We can pray for them. We can continue our positiveness and show them the other ways we know and hopefully they can learn by our teachings. Most people are ignorant of such things simply because they do not know. We have more knowledge and we can share and we can pray we will rub off on them. They don't have to turn into cat lovers, but they can respect our love of animals and hopefully they don't harm them.

I suspect the majority of 'cat-haters' on yahoo answers are fools looking for a reaction to validate their miserable existence in the world. However, I am sure some of them are real, which is disheartening. Evidence has shown that people who abuse animals are likely to also abuse humans too. Stamp out this unnecessary provocation by reporting these imbeciles immediately - the more the better yahoo will take notice. 'Biting the hook' (so to speak) will give these numb-skulls enjoyment or insulting someone.

I asked the same question a month or so ago. I suggested we report abuse. Some said we ought to just ignore; but some agreed with me. Now, I suspect that those sickos who "ask" or "answer" to get maximum offense value are bored juvenile deliquents. May the fleas of a thousand camels settle in their armpits.

Why Cat-Lovers only?. I'm a Dog-Lover myself, I like Cats, but out of fairness to the cat I don't think it would be fair to get one having 2 Bull Terriers!. Yes there are some sickos out there, and they know how sensitive you Cat lovers can be about your Animals. They are just trying to upset you and get a response, that's how they get their kicks. Best not rise to the bait and just ignore them./

I can't understand why people don't like cats. I love them & have two of my own! People that mistreat any animals get off too lightly. Well done for for giving thumbs down & reporting the sickos!!

i think of cat fans are unsocial human beings, consistent with possibility this is the reason you get carry of a contravention. they don't have a humorousness and say dogs fans hate cats for stupid motives. they get too butthurt concerning the least perplexing issues a guy or woman says approximately their powerful cats.

Someone who does not love animals can not really love humans either. They are actually suffering from this illness and depict in in different ways. This kind of behavior has roots in family, culture and society and there's not much an individual can do.
I normally raise ,my tail and show them what they're worth while turning my face the other way.

Not much. Just take care of your cats, and ignore the sickos unless you know they are torturing animals and can prove it. Serial killers often start by being cruel to animals, so it is important to report those who are being cruel to animals.
