You could get a Samsung 40inch LCD that I paid £1600 for 6months back for the price of £900ish.

Although it only has one HDMI input, so if you had one of those consoles, say the PS3, you could connect that via an HDMI cable (£80), but you couldn't get Sky HD for example, since there is only the 1 input.

But if you're happy with that, then go ahead with it. The TV volume has to be turned up quite a bit, but a surround sound system connected via component connections will sort that out and will play everything coming through your TV. Imagine PS3 in HD with surround sound!

See the following for 26 to 32 inch LCD And 42 inch Plasma TVs:

You should check the specification and what you want, such as FreeView and number of sockets for HDMI, VGA, SCART, S-Video, RGB, Composite Video and sound, as some might not be provided and some might only have one when two are desirable. You might also read some reviews.

Look on John Lewis's website. They have an excellent range and you can compare several models. Also, all JL TVs come with a 5 year guarantee as standard.

you'd only get a small one for that... make sure its not a 'HD Ready' one you buy, because that means you have to spend more money on making it HD....
