Yes they grow on trees.It is more like a shrub as it has many stock
branches.The flower is a beautiful bright red/orange color. It can bloom and produce fruit at the same time.Atleast mine did.

They are actually large shrubs, but like any plant grown for commercial use, they are often pruned to look more like a tree to make it easier to get to the fruit.
