If my parents reported me missing because I stopped contacting them for no reason and did not come home on a plane they got me a ticket for, and I went to a big city and tried to find a job because I do not want to live at home with them and I failed college but do not want to come home but I dont want to tell them I just want to disappear and get a job in a big city. I am over 18- will they think Im dead?

They might indeed worry that you might be dead, but the police will probably reassure them that they get calls like this all the time, and 99% of them turn out to be inconsiderate slobs who don't care how much they hurt their parents, or who are angry enough to want to hurt them.

Want to be on your own, eh? Then stand up like a man and tell your parents that, and since you are over 18, they know they cannot stop you. But they can, if they choose, offer to help or to at least keep in touch and invite you home for dinner once in awhile to ease the budget.

I applaud the idea that you should live on your own and be independent. I just abhor the concept of going without a proper goodbye. It's more important to your parents than you think.

Not telling them would be the stupidest, most juvenile, most cowardly course you could take at this point. If you want to seek your fortunes in a non-scholastic manner, that's dandy, but you need to tell your family what you're doing. Otherwise, they'll end up contacting the police or FBI, or spend thousands of dollars on a private investigator.

Can you possibly think that they'll be less angry when they eventually find you, at immense emotional and financial expense, than if you just fessed up now?

you would be a very mean person to do that
there is no shame in failure
not every one passes
you will just have to tell them! you will be proud of yourself if you do
it will be hard to tell them but it will be worth it
because it will be out in the open
when you do tell them they will yell etc but you be prepared so you wont argue with them
tell them you want to work & you want to leave home etc but don't argue with them
its best to leave friends because after they are your parents
please tell them about college
& good luck with your life

I'm afraid you'll have to be eliminated in order to stay missing

I doubt they'll miss you. They've probably already rented out your room.
