Last week an elderly Palestinian grandmother, the eldest kamikaze in the Gaza Strip, blew herself up in the name of Allah, leaving behind more than 40 grandchildren.

No doubt, other aging Palestinian grandmothers will soon follow suit.

The shocking thing was that in this case there was no reaction, no comment; no feeling of revolt was expressed by the Palestinian side, only adulation.

Modern radical fundamentalists use "qatalu fi sabil Allah" (fight in the way of Allah) and the other doctrines of self-defense to justify the violence they employ to accomplish their objectives. They also try to put into practice the Qur'anic passage: "Then, when the sacred months have passed, slay the idolaters wherever ye find them and take them (captive), and besiege them and prepare for them each ambush." (IX, 5).

Who should one make peace with, and why?

no.

But the Islamofascists can make Peace with us.

Unfortunately it will take up to 100 years or so to petter out. In the mean time we must remain strong, vigilant and do as much as we can to enjoy life. Particularly playing xbox 360, having sex (with married partner of course:), going on holiday, studying history and ensuring we have a quality mobile phone :)

You cannot make peace with true radicals. Radicals tend to possess an all or nothing mindset. When you add the factor of religion into the mix the mindset becomes even more intractable. At some point people are going to have to accept that there will be no peace with fanatical Islamic terrorists because their goals are to convert or kill. You cannot reason with the unreasonable. Terrorism is the new face of war. We can either prosecute it aggressively like a war, or we can become victims of it. These are the options, history fully supports the position and the time for talking has come to an end.

No, peace can not be made with people that have no respect for life.
The west values life where the radicals place a high value on death.
How do you "talk" peace with people who think that death will not only further their cause but bring them riches in the after life?

As as the west continues to think they can use diplmacy and refuse to see the religious teachings these people follow (teachings that are very powerful), we will never have peace and in fact this war will expand to all the west.

The idea that the west can reach the so called "moderates" is a pipe dream as there are no moderates. Those people who do not ascribe to the radicals way simply do what they can to fly under the radar and will not rise up to put down the more radical elements amoung them. Indeed, many quietly agree with their radical brothers--they are just not willing to die for them. So they stand quiet or they escape.

The goal of radical Islam is not just the destruction of the Jews but of world domination--a covert or die policy.
But the west--especially the US just can not wrap their brains around this new and ugly type of warfare.

The sad thing is that it can be stopped or at the very least controlled but the various factions of the west are to arrogant and thus divided to form a united front.
Add to that the lust for Oil --what you get is not pretty and Israel is the sacrifice.

Why could Lebanon now have the means to stand up to the political Islam? What has quite replaced in Lebanon? Hezbollah is (returned) bribing the inhabitants with beneficiant compensations from Iran (yet paid by the worldwide in petrol-funds). Hezbollah won't supply up their weapons and if no one kicks Hassan Nasrallah's at the back of he will purely earnings ability. Who could have the braveness to try this grimy activity? It looks as though the multinational stress would be Muslim ruled with infantrymen from Bangladesh, Malaysia and Indonesia, so don't be too hopeful!

Zionism is a kin to Nazism point blank. The jews in Isreal should be ashamed of themselves.

The land of "Israel" should be split in half. The northern half would be Palestine and the southern half Israel.

In the middle occupying Jerusalem would be the new U.N. HQ with a corridor that divides these lands from the Mediterranean to the Red Sea. Stationed there should be 200,000 man Rapid Reaction Force capable of delivering a serious smack down to ANYONE in the region that acts out of line.

This solution creates peace in the region and gets the U.N. out of New York .

No because as you have said they are radicals. As prophersised,
the end of world for the islamists is one blinding white light which
will be the case for Iran if they don't stop making attempts to
acquire a nuclear weapon, if the Americans don't nuke them
first I am sure Israel will. So If you want peace, first get rid of
the radicals. I would safely say that every peace treaty made
was broken by the radicals and quite naturally the Israelis
retaliated. Can you blame them ?

and love their neighbors!

People these days seem to be looking for
problem to occupy their empty minds with,
instead of being civilized and

Why would we want to make peace with those people? Violent deaths and lifetime detainments is preferable.

Thanks you for your question.
However, I think you do not know much about Quran, and about what is happening in the region, or, you are an Israeli trying to act smart.
What ever you are! The idea is that, you, and the other people in the west are looking for the results and the sequences and not looking for the reason.
maybe many peoples will disagree about the suicide bumpers, but in fact this is not the issue, the issue is that why a 64 year old women do such thing, what force here to do such thing, do you think it is an easy decision to just press "the end of your life button".
It has nothing to do with what you call it radical Islam, is not what the Jewish propaganda are saying, it is just this people are looking for a peaceful life, this people are looking for there freedom. Very simple answer. Leave them alone, and you will see, just examble, why no muslems or palestinins are attacking Japan, china, .. itc
And what you quoted from Quran, this is not the correct understanding, this is different subject.
