There could be so many reasons she's having side pain! It all depends on the location. But she needs to be examined, blood tests run, etc.
It could be life threatening, so MAKE her go to the doctor -- TODAY !!! All states have low cost/no cost clinics and most are very good!!! Tell her you wont eat your veggies unless she goes (say anything to make her go!!!). She will need to take a copy of the 1st 2 pages of her 1040 Tax Return with her (so they know whether to treat her for free or at a discount depending on income: I save $130 monthly on my diabetic meds!) & a photo Id (usually, not always).
Even if it's serious (bad), if caught EARLY most things can be cured !!!! DONT LET HER PUT IT OFF -- YOU THE MAN !!!
She should be proud you care sooooo much1 No get her to the doc, even if you have to drag her!!!
And speaking of "drag", flush those cigarettes!!! Thet WILL KILL HER -- THEY ARE KILLING HER !!!!!!!!!!!!!! If she cant quit cold-turkey, have the doctor put her on anti-smoking meds or patches!!! Ask her if she'd like to be here to hold and rock her grandbabies ?????? And be here to help you with them as you will need her love and help. Let me know how it's going and how she's doing !!! petunia1354@yahoo.com

it depends which side the pain is and also where abouts (high up or low down her side) there could be lots of different things that is causing it. i have recently strained lots of muscles along the side of my back and this has affected my breathing. im not saying that what it is but just saying try not to worry before you know what it is. The fact she is a smoker is a bit of a concern. Try to get her to see a doctor as it could be anything. sorry if this isnt much help!

Sounds like a number of things hun, it could be pleurisy, kidney infection, muscular skeletal (just muscular pain) or even as daft as it may seem, the beginnings of pneumonia (something my partner had this year, and is not associated with the cold or flu virus). Please get her to go to the doctors immediately. Hope she gets better soon.

ASK HER TO STOP SMOKING!!

smoking can leads to cancer.cigarettes contains aerosol, nicotine, tar, carcinogenic substances that can activate humans cancerous cells which is situated inside our body.so NO SMOKING!!

maybe that what caused her side pain.

for further information..go to the nearest hospital for medical check up..if she doesn't want to go..MAKE HER GO!!PUSH HER by any chance..
