You can never get rid of a horrible person. Anyway, opinions are subjective. You may find that person horrible but he/she might be quite popular with his/her superiors and co-workers. I'd suggest you get rid of the negative feelings you have towards this person instead. You need to adopt the mentality of changing oneself to suit his/her environment rather than the other way round.

Since it's your job and the person isn't there to be anyone's friend or to socialize....I suggest you to "suck it up" and move on...sorry, but dealing with unpleasant people is part of everyone's job. Now, if the person is going beyond its limitations, I would straight things up. After all, you and the "horrible person" are there for the job, so try not to take anything personal. Maybe the person is horrible for you and perfect for the company...again, don't take it personal.

If he or she is doing things wrong at work then report the manager if not, not much you can do, other then finding another job, but how knows if you'll find another there. Best thing to do is find a cumin ground to help you to get along with this person, And if that doesn't work have a talk with him or her and let them now you don't appreciate his or her and for now own if they need to communicate with you drop you a note. Good luck

if you're the boss, fire them.

if they're the boss, quit

if both of your positions are the same, keep track of all the horrible things they do at the job and report it to management.

i am hoping that they deserve this and it's not a personality conflict because we are talking about a person's job, their livelihood.

Just because you don't like that person means you can get them in trouble for no reason.

Unless he is seriously a problem like harassment, etc, then you report to your boss or whoever in charge.
