Why was Ham, curse for not covering his father when he found him drunk and slewed. And why is it that his entire legacy must be condenmed? Unless someone has been toying with history hmmmm!
24 When Noah awoke from his wine and found out what his youngest son had done to him,
25 he said,
"Cursed be Canaan!
The lowest of slaves
will he be to his brothers."
26 He also said,
"Blessed be the LORD, the God of Shem!
May Canaan be the slave of Shem.

Ham dishonored the sight of his fathers nakedness and indignant behavior. The Laws of Moses were not yet given but the principles were there to be practiced.
The curse was from the mouth of man but originated by The Holy Spirit for the curse was fulfilled exactly as prophecied.
Until the laws had been given everyone received ppardon for sins.
Very much the same as now when new laws are made, someone who now breaks that law is accountable. Past breakage is not accountable.
Ham broke the commandment not yet inforced under the Law of GOD but the principle was in place. If Ham had not mouthed off to his brothers everything would have gone righteously.

each and every of the verse says is "Cursed be Canaan" (refering to Ham), "a slave of slaves shall he be to his brothers" (Genesis 9:25). the translation that biblical students have given in antiquity is that he grew to develop right into a black guy, yet it really is ignoring the actual incontrovertible actuality that as a semitic human being, he and his family contributors were probable darkish skinned already. the glaring interpretation of direction does no longer element out race or coloration. In Apartheid South Africa, racist Christians justified their discrimination hostile to Africans by Verse 13:23 of the e book of Jeremiah, “Can the Kushite substitute his pores and skin or the leopard its spots? Neither are you able to do reliable who're conscious of doing evil.” Their ridiculous declare became that because a Kushite (Ethiopian or black African) is pronounced interior a similar line as an animal - the leopard, they were therefor on a similar non secular and social element as an animal. they ought to have had to seem truly problematical to dig that one up. bypass make sure?

Your references state that Canaan was cursed, not Ham. Ham was Noah's son, but he was married to a black woman. Thus the old folk song "Hambone" meaning that black people are "of the bone of Ham (son of Noah)."
Just my own interpretation, others can agree or disagree. Up to them to make their own judgements!

If ham was black but Mr & Mrs Noah were white, I can understand Noah's chagrin. Rather than cursing Ham, I would be checking out the postman & the milkman in an attampt to solve any question about ham's paternity

"what his youngest son had done to him" there is possibly more to this than directly meets the eye. But, the other two sons walked in backwards and covered their father, not laughing at him.
BTW, a black man? I never had that impression.

That's a fallacy being taught.
Lev 18:8 The nakedness of thy father's wife shalt thou not uncover: it is thy father's nakedness.
Ham laid with his mother, Canaan the offspring of this union.

Yea, terrible thing he did to deserve that, he covered his dead drunk father with a cloth because he was laying there naked and passed out.

How did you come to the conclusion this refers to Black people.
I'm curious because slavery occurred in other races also.
I'm not challenging your idea, just want to know what it is based on.
