My parents used to just shred raw potatoes, put oil in the pan, then fry them in oil with salt and pepper. The hashbrowns were delicious and simple.
As I became a cook though, I learned that if you boiled the peeled potato first and thoroughly drained them, the hashbrowns came out much better. If you've ever been at breakfast at a diner, you notice the hashbrowns are very good. The reason is, the diner gets comercially availible hashbrowns that are blanched before packaged. Try boiling your peeled potatoes, then using a cheese shredder to shred the taters. Add whatever oil of your choice to the pan, then season and cook. It's that easy.

1/4 cup cocoa powder
2/3 cup flour
200gm Grade A marijuana
5 tbsp butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs

Preheat oven to 375F.

Prepare a baking dish. I use an 8x8 inches square glass dish. I think 8x8 or 9x9 round dish should work just fine too. If the dish is nonstick, you don't need to do anything. If it's not nonstick, grease it.

Melt the butter - a couple of minutes in a microwave will do it.

Stir the cocoa powder into melted butter.

In a large bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar for several minutes.

Add butter/cocoa mixture to egg mixture and stir. Add the flour and marijuana, stir until combined (don't overmix).

Put the batter in the baking dish and spread evenly. Put in the oven.

Bake for 20 minutes and take it out. It will seem undercooked, but it's not! Don't be tempted to continue baking it until it's hard - you would end up with a tough brownie!

Let it cool down for 10 minutes, and you'll have a soft, fudgy, yummy brownie! Slice it and eat. YUM! It's best when it's warm

Peel a few potatoes, then if you have a electrical food processor, you could put the potatoes in and turn it to grated. Then heat up the frying pan with oil. Remember oil spreads out when hot so don't put too much and always be careful. If you are not an adult, please don't do it. You could be scared for life, not to mention the pain you would endure.

I make them by cutting potatoes into small chunks and steaming them in the steamer basket for 10 minutes. Then I heat oil in a skillet, on medium heat, and add the steamed potatoes. Toss them frequently until they are browned on all sides. Add salt and pepper and serve.

You can also just pan fry them!

YUMMY, now I want some LOL

"Hashed Brown Potatoes" - 6 servings

1/4 cup bacon drippings or salad oil
8 medium potatoes; cooked, peeled and diced
1 onion; finely chopped
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper

1) In 10" skillet over medium-high heat, heat drippings. Add potatoes to skillet; press down firmly with spatula. Sprinkle with onion, salt and pepper. Reduce heat to medium. Cook until golden on bottom, pressing down potato mixture occasionally.
2) With spatula, turn potatoes about 1/4 at a time; press down. Cook until golden, turning as necessary.

the best one are first boiled until cooked clear through, then completely cooled to retain their shape. After cooling grate them with a cheese grater, then fry them in the grease or oil of your choice. Personaly I like to cook 'em in part bacon grease and part vegetable oil.
