I believe Hindus can't wear rings or any other form of jewelry in middle finger of either hand. All other fingers are ok for ring. What is the reason/origin of this belief?

??? Thats a wrong belief. The middle finger is used to wear jewellery just like any other finger. Even bridal jewellery consists of 5 ringed set for hand decoration.

Any way middle finger is also used to wear diamond stone. So even astrologer will ask you to wear it in middle finger as it is related with mountain of venus on your palm.
