If you are not following God 100%, and picking and choosing what you want to do, then it is just making your own religion.

Extremism is simply an inability to be compassionate and understanding. It is a mental illness.
People with this mental illness can be found in every corner of the world. They may have different attributes, Nationalistic, Religious, Racial, Political, but they all suffer from the same disease.
People with the same mental illness they will show symptoms that are similar.
Thats why most Extremists sound similar

Having lived in the middle east all I can tell you is that they do believe in and support the edict to convert to Islam or die. I have yet to hear a Christian say....convert or I'll kill you. To me that is the definition of an extremist.

Extremists have been religion brainwashed. Religion is a highly competitive business and they never complain if people kill for their cause, they ;just look the other way. The more followers the bigger the collection basket.

Because they are so alike. Both want to decide what you read, what you do, what you believe. They both want to rule your every waking hour, and want you to hate exactly the same things that they hate. The only difference between the two is the religion they use as an excuse for their vile hatred and intolerence.

I am a Jesus Freak. But that is only because He has done so much for me.
Many people are filled with hatred, even when they claim to be Christian. They have hurt and repulsed many by their behaviour. But we are commanded to LOVE.
For those who have had a bad experience from a Christian, please accept my humble apologies and try to understand that they are not true representatives of Jesus Christ.
