I have five tattoos, I love tattos, and I have a job, a very protocollar one; never let people tell you what to do: you're free to think with your own head, so, you want a tattoo? have it!...When I have to attend official meeting or receptions, I dress according to the occasion, and that's enough.

Honestly, I think if you feel you need a tattoo to "remind you of who and what you are", then it's a bad idea. If that quote is a permanent part of your daily life, then you shouldn't need to damage your skin and spend that kind of money just for a re-affirmation. Practicing what you preach is a GREAT way of living your life! You shouldn't need a tattoo to do that. Live with wisdom, a clear mind, and beauty all around you.

Besides, at the age of 14, your dermis (the underlying layers of your skin) is still developing and any tattoo you get now will be blurry and unreadable by the time you're 25 or so. I work every day with people who have messed-up tatts because they got them done too young.

I hope you find happiness and mental clarity SOON! :)

I have two and I work with customers all the time. Placement is something to think about with a tattoo because if you want to work somewhere like a bank or a state office you're gonna wanna cover it up. But either way that's not the point.

At fourteen there isn't a single certified tattoo artist that will touch you, if they did they'd loose their certification. Minor's can't get tattoos by anywhere that can be deemed safe and clean because none of those shops want to risk being shut down, and even if your parents do agree to let you get one it won't matter.

You haven't said how old you are or where you wanted the tattoo.
If you are not old enough to get the tattoo without parental agreement then I would say to wait for now. But if you were old enough, then I think it's your body and you are old enough to make your own decision. You mention dealing with customers. Does your boss know you plan on getting a tattoo? And if not does anyone else you work with have them? If you get one how visible would it be and would you be able to cover it? I have 5 tattoos but all of them I can cover if I need to or I can display them if I want. You need to think about that.

I seriously hope that there isn't a tattoo shop that will tattoo you, even with your parents' permission.

You sound entirely too immature for a tattoo.

Stay in school.
