start with little things. 9 pounds in a month is totally do-able. drink more water, eat five small (200-400), healthy meals a day instead of three large ones (aim short of 2000 calories, 1600-1750, i think); introduce more fruits and veggies into your diet, and try walking 60 minutes a day. breath, relax, and try not to stress out. having a healthy, happy mind influences a healthy body.

A person needs to take in 10 calories per pound of their body weight daily, so if you way 200 lbs you should take in 2000 calories to maintain it, but if they take in 1800 they will begin to loss. Try that, plus do this cardio routine on a tred mill. Go twenty Min's. Start out with a fast paced walk for five minuets to warm up. When the clock hits 5:45 go into a sprint until it hits the next Minut. when it hits 6, go back to a fast walk. repeat this until the 15th minut. then use the remaning five to cool down. good luck

Try the CSIRO diet
The basis of CSIRO is higher protein and lower but not completely devoid of carbs.
Here's a link to a site which gives you some of the recipes and the actual first 6 weeks of the diet for free:
http://www.themainmeal.com.au/index.cfm?...
Basically a balanced diet, including high protein foods (protein foods make you feel fuller for longer) such as lean red meat, chicken and fish you can excahnge for vegetarian options too). Cut down on processed carbs and exchange them for less processed foods (ie exchange white bread for multigrain) Eat 3 main meals a day but add some healthier snacks...if you crave sugar and fatty snacks like I do, replace them with more natural substitutes. eg change over a candy bar/chocolate for dried or normal piece of fruit, instead of chips have some mixed nuits.
Make sure you are also having high fibre foods (that's where the fruit and nuts are really handy)...pick lower sugar cereals that have higher fibre such as Sultana Bran or Fibre Plus.
Don't foget to drink at least 2 litres of water ...I still allow myself a diet drink too every day
Don't forget to add at least half an hour exercisea day...morning for weightloss, evening for weight maintenence. I go to gym 5-6 mornings a week...that's alot but to lose the weight I have had to make time for me. I have also added two boxing classes
Alternately I do walk for 40 minutes on a Saturday. I did start my exercising at the beginning by just walking.
Also if you find yourself starting to plateau then you need to vary your routine...change your exercising pattern around
Most importantly of all ...be kind to yourself and don't crucify yourself if you slip a bit...it happens, just don't write the whole day/week off if you do...I found allowing myself some chocolate every week has curbed the urge to binge.
Cheers and good luck

Cut out sweets altogether and start running (or walking). Snack on fruits & vegetables. Drink plenty of water (ditch the soda altogether). Eat only when hungry and stop once you're full.
Increase your physical activity. Run atleast 4 times a week.
You'll notice the difference immediately. Follow those guidelines and you'll lose those pounds before your deadline.

I say
protein..less carb..less fat unless it's good fat like flax seed oil
eg
breakfast
Fruit (fresh fruit)..
lunch tuna and salad
dinner chicken n salad.
no mayo.
go for a 30 min brisk walk 5 times a week
I lost about 6 kg in a month doing so.
plus snack on fruits.
my skin cleared up too...and i also took L-carnitine (h=can get it from healthsops)..an amino acids that takes the fast out of the fat cells into the blood steam to be burned off as energy!!..
take it before doing exercise..(30 mins prior)
as when u do physical activity u use up your stored sugars first...dont really get to the fat untill sugar stores have been used.
Plus take spirulina for nutrients.

don't eat anything with sugar or white flour. You can have sugar that comes from fruit, and anything with 100% whole what flour. You can eat meat, nuts, brown rice, 100% whole wheat pasta, etc. Just be careful and read your ingredients, lots of foods have sugar in them. I lost 10 lbs in a month this way. And of course, exercise.

Drink TONS of water and shop until you drop! Seriously! Get out there and walk until you feel that your legs will fall off and since this is the prime shopping season, take advantage of it!
Good luck!
