@Kenny Curiosity and awe of the unknown. That is the emotional benefit. I can’t think of positive social benefits since I’m not a member of any atheists club, but not having to conform into a straight-jacket is pretty nice. By the way I have the same non-belief system as you

i have a "belief system" which has a wider horizon than a "religion". if u think rationally...if every religion has a superpower called "God" then how many gods are out there? and r they all superpowers?? i believe that there the same god for everyone on this earth ..its just that the way we pray to him is different. this belief of mine has enabled me to see everyone be it from any caste or culture rich or poor with the same eye and level of respect. it has brought me down to earth and has given me sensitivity to others. i respect others more now as i am free of any religious bounds. my belief in God gives me hope to live as i know he is out there as my biggest support and tht i am not alone. it has given me strength and a positive attitude towards life

A deep sense of morality and a desire to help others. A need to inprove my life, and treat others well. A deep sense of wonder at how life came about, and became as we see it now. A strong desire to learn more, and open my mind to new ideas and thoughts. Trying to live my life well, and be kind and generous to others, something which I find is often returned. An acceptance of others thoughts and beliefs.

By the way, I'm an atheist.

No social benefits what-so-ever. The most frequent emotions; disgust and rage. Not good for my blood pressure at all. Oh, Well.

Assurance of being in Heaven after the trials of this life, which is comfort in and of itself. Also with daily study of the Bible and prayer, I find power to live life with integrity, compassion & peace as I walk this planet with everyone else.
I do not care for denominations.I am simply a follower of Christ, and my church is non-denominational Christian.

Emotionally, I get some comfort being agnostic. I don't know if there's a god or an afterlife and it's okay. Now, socially, I get "choose a side, you either believe or you don't!" but it doesn't matter.

there are no religions, and yet there is one religion. They're all the same, full of ****, full of false hopes and false promises. They all promise you a promised land that's a cross between Barbieland & Disneyland. Beleive in yourself, and look around at what is happening in the real world... that is a good start.

Emotionally, I have a peace of mind regarding my past, present and future.

Socially, none that I know of, as I do not flaunt them, nor attempt to convert anyone...

I'm much calmer, relaxed and nicer to be around. People like me because I'm much less judgemental, more forgiving and caring. People respond much better when they don't feel threatened or uncertain.

Being an atheist, I save 10% of my income by not tithing and 100% of my sanity by not going to church.

You?
