Yep, a good portion of the scientists I meet are atheist, as am I. The better they tend to be at science, the more non-religious they tend to be, since they realize they can't reconcile their religious beliefs with their scientific training and outlook.
Science isn't a job you just go home from at the end of the day and forget. The process of science follows you in everything you do.

My personal opinion is that the 7% have it right while the 93% are in denial, but that is just my opinion. It is very difficult to mix religion and science and keep one's faith in both. Science is based on cold, proven facts while religion is a complete matter of faith. The two do not make for good bed fellows.

not all scientists are atheists. i know plenty that believe in evolution as well as god. just not every aspect of either. hell im one of them. i just dont understand why people cant believe that you can believe in god and evolution at the same time. why is that so hard to believe?

That is becuase they want to see and fee facts for them to be real.
Spiritual things are not that way- thus... they become athiests or athiests become scientists because they want to be right.
