My advice, seriously....

STAY AWAY FROM SOKA GAKKAI. I've heard of people saying that the followers loyal to this cult will have good luck and wealth. But once they leave the cult, their life took a 180 degree turn and dive to the bottom.

I know their mantra sounds something like Namo Kereng Gio? I forgot. And their God of worship starts like Gor... something. I forgot again. True Buddhism worship nothing, not even the Buddha.

Stay away from this cult while you can. But if you choose to stay on, that's your own choice.

Buddhism and all religions have their fair share of cults. I followed A Course in Miracles and found it to be extraordinary -- especially with the elucidations from Ken Wapnick. However, it's been hijacked by so many new agers and egos and cultists who have made it support their ego interpretation (which becomes a fascinating way to see how the original message of Jesus in the bible was changed - people don't like to hear about non-duality and non-individuality). There's one nut who says some ascended masters talked to him for 11 years -- incredible. I stick with Ken Wapnick who tells it like it is. And for buddhism, I stick with Zen -- but even zen has its crap which is why ya gotta go with a valid lineage. Zen Mountain Monastery in NY is one...

I have been practicing this Buddhism for a year now. I can tell you more if you want to e-mail me. Sometimes I have had my concerns about the organization. What has helped me so incredibly much is the study aspect. Also, the chanting of Nam-myoho-renge-kyo has been so powerful for my life. I find I am so much more courageous and confident that no matter what I would wonder about the SGI, I love to chant. I have found many of the books helpful. Again I would be happy to recommend any specific ones if you want to follow up on that. Good Luck to you.

It is not a Buddhist organisation! They hijacked Buddhism, and used it as a front. It is a cult! They wanted to join our national Buddhist organization but was rejected! They don't even acknowledge the 4 noble truths and the 8 fold noble path!
Run as fast as you can from these charlatans!

No, I have never heard of this organization.

However, Ramadan Shalah, Palestinian Islamic Jihad leader, has publicly admitted that Israel’s security fence is an important obstacle to the terrorist organizations, and that “if it weren’t there, the situation would be entirely different.” The Palestinian Islamic Jihad has carried out the greatest number of suicide bombing attacks during the past few years.

I have SGI friends. I think chanting is very good. They respect Mr. Ikeda(?), but certainly not like a God. I'm not going to criticize, but it's not for me either.
