What if Jesus has? If somebody said they were Jesus, they would probably get locked up in a nut house or something. After Jesus, it was proclaimed by the apostles and the Church that anyone professing pretty much anything that furthered the religion, even helping it, or detering it in another direction, those people would be labeled false prophets and the like and their teachings or what have you would be criminal.

So, what if God truley spoke to someone, or gave some sort of sign that was supposed to change the world? The powers at be in Christianity (and perhaps other religions) would denounce them as false prophets. If Jesus revealed himself, I think many people wouldn't believe him.

Don't get me wrong, I believe in Jesus...I just think the Church has it a lot wrong.

How do you know the kids dying in Africa are scared of where they would go after they die ? They believe in God and have hope of the eternal.
Jesus captured your sentiment in one of his parables - the parable of Lazarus, when the rich man asked Abraham to send someone from the dead to warn his brothers of the reward due to the sin of selfishness to their fellow man.
John 16:30 He said, 'Oh no, father Abraham, but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.'

Then Abraham said, 'If they will not listen to Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded if someone should rise from the dead.'"

Now Jesus raised another lazarus from the dead, many saw it and still doubted it. Their minds were already spinning theories when Lazarus came out of the grave 3 days after being entombed, shuffling in his bandages.
Jesus was raised from the dead. Some thought it was sorcery.
However no sorcerer has ever risen from the dead.

The point He made is still valid today for humankind. If Jesus would show Himself, they still would not believe. He would have to show Himself as a terrifying judge, and that indeed He will, but only at the time decided. Then it will be too late for some. If he came in as a genteel person, some would still not believe it was Him.

Because it's not time yet. Be patient.
God's timing is always perfect.
It's our jobs as humans to fix the world's problems not His.
God didn't create to problems with this world, we did.
We as humans make selfish choices and we have careless actions that has an affect on others. Everything a person does has an effect on someone or something else, whether it's good or bad.

God cannot establish His Son in Israel as King of the Jews unless the Jews are living in Palestine, their promised homeland, so it is God's plan to restore the Jews to Palestine before the Second Coming of Christ:

"But, The LORD liveth, that brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the lands whither he had driven them: and I will bring them again into their land that I gave unto their fathers." (Jer. 16:15)

"And I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them. And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, saith the LORD thy God." (Amos 9:14-15)

Because Israel rejected Christ, God allowed the Romans to destroy Jerusalem in 70 A.D., and the Jews were dispersed among the Gentile nations of the world. Since then they have wondered from nation to nation suffering bitter persecution. However, in the late 1800's a remarkable thing started happening. In large numbers, the Jews began returning to Palestine, and in 1887 they made formal statements that they intended to REPOSSESS THEIR HOMELAND!

When World War I began in 1914, there were 80,000 Jews living in Palestine. England's Balfour Declaration of 1917 gave strong approval for the Jews to establish a national homeland, but England reneged due to Arab pressure. Nevertheless, 400,000 Jews had settled in the homeland by 1939.

Satan saw what was happening. He knew that the Lord was regathering the Jews for a reason, and he knew the reason: the Second Coming of Christ. So Satan raised up Adolph Hitler to murder six million of God's chosen people as an outright act of hate and revenge. This massive slaughter created enough sympathy for the Jews that the United Nations granted 5000 square miles of Palestinian land to them after World War II. Then in 1948 Israel became an independent nation for the first time in many centuries! The Arabs have fought viciously to destroy Israel, but with no success. God wants His people IN PALESTINE (Amos 9:14-15), because the Lord Jesus Christ is coming very soon. During the Six Day War of 1967, Israel even gained possession of the ancient temple sight, and plans are currently underway to rebuild the temple.

AMEN
DAvid

Let's imagine that the whole God and Jesus thing is true and we were created and put here for a reason. We may have been put here to suffer. Maybe God wants to see how we handle a difficult world. Maybe its a training. He wants to have us grow and develop as individuals and he See's that putting us in a dangerous and hostile world and have us convert it ourselves into a good place full of love and art is the best gift for us.

Jesus already showed Himself and the majority of the people rejected Him then. Why do you think it would be any different now?

Jesus showed himself for 33 years and few people took notice.

Your theory is wrong.

He already did show Himself, some people just don't believe the facts though

He already did, and He will again... Every knee shall bow etc....

I like how atheists are always refering back to the starving african children who by the way are also possibly dying of aids... This is not God's lack, it is the lack of His people to understand God's power and work in it...

Some bad people would not stop even when they know the consequences, without even the eternal consequences in play the crime rate is very high and we all know that prison isn't really that glamorous.
