They use a special comb thing(thingy-mah-jig!), i dunno its name. It can have a very good affect.

It is not good to have your hair thinned out every time u go 2 a salon, every 2nd time is much better 4 ur hair.

I just answered this question for someone else, so I'll cut and paste :)

Your best bet is to have your mother come with you to a very reputable salon where the stylists will give you a free consultation. Any good cosmetologist should be happy to explain for free, without just immediately getting out the thinning shears or carving comb (which are the two main tools I use to thin my clients hair out with) and hacking away at your hair. Depending on the length, texture, thickness, existing style, etc., I use different methods of thinning my clients' hair, and your chosen stylist can properly determine what's right for your hair!

The only way thinning damages your hair is if the thinning shears are of very poor quality. In fact, thinning should reduce the amount of potential damage, since you spend much less time blowdrying and/or frying your hair with a curling or straightening iron.

In general, I begin by taking small sections of underlying layers of hair and take small snips with thinning shears (you can do a Google search to see examples of these). They take out small amounts of hair to reduce the density. The one warning about thinning I will give is that thinned hair should be maintained by the SAME stylist until you decide to go with a completely different style, since that stylist will know every visit where he/she thinned. Thinned hair always looks it's best when you use a good salon quality shampoo and conditioner, too!

Hair loss affects both men and women. Here are some natural remedies that can help boost hair growth: https://tinyurl.im/aH7Q8 While genetics plays a role, there are other factors, including: hormonal imbalances, an underactive thyroid gland, nutrient deficiencies and insufficient scalp circulation.

I've had my hair thinned and it doesn't really make a difference at all. So there is no point.

When i get my hair thinned, they use this thing razor comb thing so if you got there just ask if anybody knows how to razor cut. i do that to get my bangs side swept, cut, and thinned i hate using scissors they make my hair look gay and chopped up. i dislike that so much!

My stylist uses a razor (a long one not the kind you shave your legs/face with) and actually thins it that way. It works well.
