Nearly all puppies are born with roundworms, and they get them form mom, and mom's milk. Our pups are de-wormed every 3 weeks or until they test negative. You can only get the 'worm' stage of the roundworm until the dog is about 6 months old..so any not gotten now, will form cysts in the muscle tissue, and come back to life under stressful conditions..so, Now is the time to get rid of them.
However, if you are referring to the tiny rice-like worms, those come from ingesting fleas, and the only way to keep them gone is to control any fleas..
since the product, Revolution, came out, we don't have to worry about roundworms in our pups or moms! wonderful stuff..ask your vet about it..

The worms could have come from anywhere. A trip to the vet for a deworming session will help. Afterward, keeping the dog on Interceptor (a heartworm/other worm preventative) will help to keep the dog from having reoccuring worms. This is a simple tablet that has to be given monthly. Nothing too hard or expensive. :)

It's easy to get them back, perhaps even there were eggs left in her and they hatched. No need to worry. Just deworm her again and repeat the treatment in 14 days, to avoid reoccurring because iof the eggs. Also, if you can take a specimen to the vet he can find out what type of worms they are and give the right drug, although most deworming drugs work for a very wide spectre of worms. I know it is gross, but there is no need to panic if they insist a little, just repeat treatment, that's all.

All dogs get worms and there are different types of worms too. These worms live in the dog's stomach and intestine. These worms can make your dog very sick if not treated, but puppies are especially prone to worms, therefore, puppies must be wormed once every two weeks until twelve weeks old. Then they need worming once a month until they are six months old. Adult dogs must be wormed at least every three months consistently

its not 'bad' but she does have to go to the vet and get medicine, it is possible the dewormer didn't kill these particular kind of worms or she picked them up again...again, be sure to check with your vet. you can buy your own dewormer but that may not kill all worms or the particular kind she has plus do you really want to have to give her the medicine? (think about it) let the vet or vet tech do the dirty deed...more info on worms and your pet from the following link:

basically approximately all canines have worms in some unspecified time sooner or later of their existence, it quite is not that undesirable in case you handle it in a well timed way. i might carry a stool pattern to the vet next week so he can get some dewormer. i think of he would be fantastic on the sea coast, basically be certain you %. up his #2's
