Canada has an almost zero population growth, without immigration. That is why we allow so many new comers into this country. People already here are not breeding. For every married couple you must have atleast 3 children in order to see a modest growth, and that is not happening these days. As for snappy, slappy or sassy whatever her name is, she is no doubt a gun loving, hang em all American. She could only wish they had our crime rate...which thanks to her and her violent loving kin folk...we get most of the illegal guns on the street from the USA.

That's the first I heard that the population was decreasing every
day !
Living here I see growth and more people arriving from every country around the world.
People in Canada tend to move around alot, especially for work and population figures do not keep up with facts.
While it is true we have a aging population I do not think that could be the reason and maybe that's where you got the facts.
We do have Doctors leaving for other opportunities, shortage of Nurses, thousands of jobs out-sourced to other counties and
some larger companies moving to less expensive counties to do business....
Should it be true that Canada has a population decrease, I would also like to know why although personally I have not seen it.
Stats are always approximate anyway..........with a country this
large it is impossible to keep track of people movement.
Hope I shed some light on your question but do not have a honest
answer.................

Our poplation is not exactly decreasing. Our birth rate may be. You will find with coutries with a good education system and a high standard of living the birth rates decrease. (look to parts of Europe) People are having less children.
Our immigration is steady and we have many new Canadians. They will help keep the population steady.
That answer about having no way to protect ourselves is silly. Look at places where lots of people have and carry guns. DO you notice a sharp drop in crime....I didn't think so. Also, the death penalty has yet to be proved to prevent crime. (it is a waste of money without even mentining the moral implications)
We do not have terribly high crime rates.

Well, it might just be your own perception that it's that way.
Granted that Canada is not likely to be overpopulated for the next century or so unless it surrenders itself to China or India, but it still has a slim grow for now. It might be because it's the 9th most sparesly populated country in the world.
It's true that many native talents seeks greener pastures in the US or Europe so the out flow exists but not so much as to cause a negative growth in population.

It is not decreasing it is growing! We have 4 million people wanting to come into our country every year we accept 1.5 million of them a year if we accept that many people in 5 years that's the population of hong kong however you came to your conclusion is insanity. as for miss sassy maybe you should take a long hard look at your own country for some of that high crime rate I mean its not like we glamorize crime by stopping work to watch a high speed chase or make shows like cops to show how grandma got gunned down in a gang shoot out gone a wry

Where did you hear this? In fact, Canada's population is growing faster than the USA's, in percentage. Although few Americans know this (as per their usual naivite about the rest of the world) we in Canada have almost double the percentage of immigrants as does the USA. We are the REAL melting pot.

Canada is a Schizophrenic country. Most have decided not to have a family. It's wrong. So they rely on immigrants to fill the population, but, once again, it's a Schizophrenic country.
