While researching conditions on the internet is useful, it can also be dangerous. I would suggest going to a dermatologist who has the expertise to let your man know what is exactly wrong.

From my research (http://www.diagnosishealth.com/discussion1/_disc76/0000095c.htm), I found the suggestion of a hydrocortisone cream, but you would need a proper diagnosis and prescription.

From my own knowledge, acne is caused by hormone imbalance (not dirt!). It is important to find the cause of this. As a suggestion, it isn't junk food that directly causes acne, but it messes with your insulin/blood glucose levels which changes other hormone levels. So try to stay away from this kind of food as a test. I would also suggest eating a low GI diet (http://www.glycemicindex.com) as it will stabilise hormone levels and will likely fix up acne.

If you’re looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne… prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symposium and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.

For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it’s advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.

Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.

Chances are, that Oil and dandruff is causing this problem.
The skin pores have become clogged from the Hair oil and perhaps dandruff.

Solution: Use a shampoo that will not cause dandruff or oil.
Also, Trim the hair. Use a topical Acne lotion to the area. Reduce the use of a hat, let the skin Breath in doors and out doors.

Is he washing his scalp everyday? If he is, wow, sounds like a gland or thyroid problem. Go to a dermatologist soon.
