I totally agree. I think that religion is in place for us all to find God and ourselves in a way that is suited to the individual. We are all here to learn and if everyone was the same and believed the same way:why would anyone strive to learn, define, and discover anything new? It would all be laid out for us and we wouldn't work as hard on our spirituality.

If we all agreed on who God is I'm not sure how the world would be. If they are all true believers then it should be peaceful. If not then there will still be wars over who's way to worship is right. Every path though is unique because no two people are the same. If we believed the same things would still be unique because we'd all have a personal relationship with God. Adam and Eve had that kind of set up before they messed up and they we're unique and def.not bord.

How exactly can two paths be 'the only one'? If there is no God why follow a path to God? If we all just agree on everything then we will all always be wrong.
If you want to be a free thinking individual reject the church!

If we all agreed on religion then we could quit worrying about converting other people to our way of seeing things. We would have a more unified view of what scientific research to pursue, how to live life, etc. The world would be a better place. We would still be different in other ways though like our tastes in music, food, sport, etc.

Well, no. If we all agree to any one of those hypotheses, then we are not bored because we believe in it. Religion and diversity aren't so strongly linked that a community that believes in the same deity/deities is incapable of producing multiple ideas. Two people of the same religion are still two individuals. Just because all agree on whom to worship doesn't mean we can't continue our lives. We still have to function as a society on Earth, and that takes creativity.

my thoughts are that if we all agreed there was no god, people would get busy and do other things than kill and threaten each other over it. If we all agreed that islam was the true path to god, the world would suddenly devolve by about 1000 years

I agree that we'll all get bored, essentially. Man is an ungovernable animal by nature, tending to want to find their own way, their own customs, and to dissent from the majority in certain issues. The mind also naturally wanders in matters of religion, and will always lead to differences in opinion.

I think your logic is terrible. How can you say that if we all agreed on a single religion, or lack there of, we would no longer need freedom of thought???? People would still THINK IN DIFFERENT WAYS and with different motivations, emotions, etc. Nothing would change as far as "life" is concerned

My thoughts are: trying to get this toy out of my doggie's mouth so he can fetch it again....he loves to wrestle for the toy
And, yes I do think of how other beliefs think, and how they get there.

I'm a big fan of diverse thinking and beliefs.
Just as long as it doesn't impinge on mine.
