Which religions can easily be proved false? Attempt #2 (I got 2 good response first try)

From an objective standpoint, which religions can be proved false. Could anyone who responds not give one line answers.

Example response:
1. Norse Mythology: There was a world serpent that was wrapped around the Earth several times that Thor would fish for with an Ox's head.

From all of the submarines, and boats in the world it seems unlikely that such a massive beast would go unnoticed.

2. Greek Mythology: Gods lived in a palace on Mount Olympus built by Hephaestus with large walls around the palace.

There is no palace on top of Mount Olympus.

3. Scientology:
- costs hundreds of thousands of dollars to learn advanced doctrines.
- Xenu used trillions of Douglas DC-7s?
- Xenu brought Trillions of frozen aliens to Earth just to kill them

Didn't the ancient Egyptians believe the sun wouldn't rise unless you prayed to Ra? I bet no one prays to Ra anymore, yet the sun keeps rising.

Religions are based on concepts that have no precise definition. For instance can anyone give a solid definition of what god is? In other words is there a definition that can be tested. The answer is no. This leads to an obvious question. If something cannot be proven false, then what is the individual supposed to believe? It is because of this question that we don't do things like mixing church and state. No one can prove it right or wrong, but things like laws have to be testable. For instance, there have been many cases of individuals committing murder and claim to a jury that god or the devil or something else told them to do it. These explanations are dismissed in court.

With that said I would say no religion could ever be proven false, because the very definition of religion is to believe in something that cannot be defined.

Mythology was not religious doctrine like modern religion is now. Many consistent ideas are found all over the globe at different times. You have a great question .

Many Christian stories can be found in Ancient Assyrian, Sumerian and other ancient civilizations' . The names are changed, but the stories are the same.

I believe there is a certain degree of mythology in most religions. The basic messages are all the same.

More info on Scientology. It's not a religion... It is a CULT. Despite what a few fanatical members may say, it IS a cult. The “church” harasses & bullies anyone who they deem an "enemy" (basically anyone who has anything negative to say about the "church"). They will RUIN YOUR LIFE if you speak out against them long enough. However, the truth deserves to be told, so here is the REAL truth:

The founder is L. Ron Hubbard, the science FICTION writer who once told a friend that the best way to make lots of money is to start your own religion. Though being a very outspoken critic of psychiatric drugs, it was discovered upon Hubbards death that the anti-anxiety drug hydroxyzine (Vistaril) was present in his body, which several of his assistants would later attest was only one of many psychiatric & pain medications Hubbard ingested over the years. (visit this link to read about the uses of hydoxyzine: http://www.drugs.com/mtm/v/vistaril.html )

Scientologists believe the evil alien ruler Xenu killed a lot of aliens (Thetans) from around the universe by bringing them to earth & blowing them up inside volcanoes. They believe the souls of these aliens (these souls are "Body Thetans") have attached themselves to us & cause many of our mental & physical ills. Members who know about Xenu will attempt to deny it or pretend like it doesn’t matter. They are required to sign a contract binding them to silence on the matter. Lower level members don’t know about Xenu & accordingly deny everything because they honestly don’t know.

To rid ourselves of "Body Thetans" & also “engrams” (past negative experiences stored in our unconscious mind) so that we can become “clear”, we have to go through "auditing" with a member of the “church” who uses an "e-meter" to measure our “reactive mind”...... & we have to pay lots & lots of money for “auditing” (purchased in 12.5-hour blocks, costing anywhere from $750 for introductory sessions to between $8,000 & $9,000 for advanced sessions) & to take courses on Scientology to advance to higher “levels” in the “church”. The “church” has also taken a very hostile stance towards psychiatry & psychiatric drugs irrespective of the fact that some people require medication to remain adequately functional in everyday life. They deny the reality of chemical imbalance & profound mental disturbance & accordingly do NOTHING to effectively stabilize the dangerously unstable. The “church” has been known to withhold prescription pharmaceuticals from member (with deadly results).

Scientology is undeniably a cult. For more information on what a cult is & what their damaging effects are, please visit the link provided at the bottom of the sources. Just know that Scientology DOES qualify by meeting these 5 criteria:

(1) It uses psychological coercion to recruit, indoctrinate & retain its members. (2) It forms an elitist totalitarian society. (3) Its founder leader is self-appointed, dogmatic, messianic, not accountable & has charisma. (4) It believes 'the end justifies the means' in order to solicit funds & recruit people. (5) Its wealth does not benefit its members or society.

No religions can be proven true. That's why belief in religion is called faith, it means there is no proof, if there was proof it would not require faith to believe it.

The problem with religion and faith is that through faith alone anything can be believed, it is not a valid tool of knowledge for this reason, faith often means belief despite powerful evidence to the contrary.

Absolutely no religion can be proven either false or true, although many people have tried over the centuries. Sorry, buddy. Some guy in Yahoo answers isn't going to know any more than Kant did.

1. Christianity
- Jesus says that he will do anything you ask if you pray to him for it. Ask Jesus to appear. He doesn't appear.
- The Bible says that all of the Bible is true. Creation is false, Noah's Flood is false, and Jesus doing anything you ask is false. I'm sure you could find many more things that prove Christianity is false.
