Seriously, it is mostly a personal preference. Chances are, you will be just as happy with either gender.
Both genders act exactly the same: boundless energy, outgoing and friendly personality, freakishly strong neck and tail, and curious and inquisitive nature. They get into everything....and in their puppy phase, we WILL CHEW everything they can get there teeth around.
But you absolutely love them anyway!
Physically, males are larger than females and, of course, weigh more. So, think about that when a 100 lb. dog is gleefully running toward you at 25 mph. Truth is, they really aren't aware of how big or strong they are. OK, I'm ranting...
But there really is not difference in personality, only in physical characteristics. As long as you spay or neuter your puppy, you shouldn't have the problem of your dog 'going into heat' or humping.

I recommend that you meet with the breeder and play with all the puppies. The sex of the dog doesn't really matter. I have four dogs: females and males and they all act differently. Play with all the puppies and see which one you like, remember when picking a puppy don't pick the one that hides in the corner and acts anti social because that dog usually hasn't been sociallized very well and you also don't want to pick the dog that is beating up on every one else either. Usually the dog that is extremely quiet or overly active are going to be harder to train. But this is only from my own experiance.

There are benefits and drawbacks to both sexes.
I personally have a male and a female German Shepherd. My female is a dominant female and she is very headstrong. She is also loving, but when she feels like it. I breed her mother and breed her grandmother. They were both extremely loving and were very protective of my children who were about 8 to 10 years old at that time.
My male, I have had him since the day he was born is VERY LOVING!!! He is a "velcro dog" - meaning if I am around he has to be really close to me!!! ( By the way both of my dogs are fixed!!)
"Females are more easily trained and housebroken, more sanitary, more sensitive to children and their needs and better behaved in the house. Of course, she does have her heat periods, disturbing both the household and the neighborhood. If she is not spayed. the twice a year job of keeping her confined for three weeks should be considered."
" The male, when he gets the call of the wild during certain seasons, will stray from home in search of a companion. He may stay away two or three days and return home quite beaten up. During the period of courting he will indulge in several fights to establish himself as the leading contender for the affection of the female who is the center of all the attention."
"Castrated males make excellent pets and are similar to spayed females in affection"
THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS TO HAVE YOUR DOG FIXED BEFORE THEY REACH 4-6 MONTHS OLD. Talk to the vet about the earliest age that you can get your female spayed and your male neutered. You are doing them a great service, because they will not get certain diseases if they are fixed!!!

once you study male-lady-male threesomes (mfm) to male-lady-lady (mff) threesome mfm threesome are so a lot extra immediately ahead. Why is this? frequently because of the particular fact for each a million unmarried female attracted to having a threesome at the same time as think about one thousand men who're. a range of of the time unmarried women human beings come to have a threesome with the help of their male companions or in the experience that they arrive in have met yet another couple. this suggests the searching a unmarried lady will take a range of of time and endurance. Your posting looks to point to me that it change into no longer communicate time yet neither of you realized how puzzling searching a 'unicorn', unmarried female, might want to be. some couples will commence with mfm for a style of motives and then paintings their thanks to mff threesomes as they study about having a threesomes. If both of you've an interest in having a threesome then it will be nicely worth attempting mfm first or operating at attempting to locate that third lady. keep in ideas you may want to spend over a three hundred and sixty 5 days searching yet when it truly is something that you opt for then it will be nicely well worth the wait. optimistically you'll income your objective and that i choose you the suited on your journey.

female. Especially if it will be an inside dog with children.
Female dogs are more tolerant to being pack members versus pack leaders. They adapt better to family life .
We've had 4 dogs, all female. We never had one that we had to worry about them being aggressive toward kids. Males are too much into to the pack dominance thing.
The fact females don't raise their leg up on furniture is an added plus.
I do agree that either one, get them fixed or spayed.

the gender doesnt really matter with Labradors..However, it is important to meet both parents of the one you choose. If the parents are exactly as you want your Lab to be, then you have a better chance of having a wonderful, beautiful, trainable dog.
there are so many poorly bred labs these days, that they are getting a bad reputation of being hyper and unruly..but it is only from poor breeding..

If you plan on breeding, then get a female.
But if you are not going to breed then I suggest you get a male.
Either one is fine really, and you can have it fixed when it gets
old enough, but I find that the males are far more lovable and
protective, especially with kids.
I'd go with a male.

if you plan to breed this dog, it might be nice to start off with a male so that you don't have to worry about the dog going into heat and leaving blood everywhere and having to keep her away from male dogs. of course, if you breed a male, you'll still have to keep him away from other females you dont want him to breed with, but at least you won't have the blood to deal with.
if you don't plan to breed them, definitely get your dog spayed/neutered though!

Personally I perfer females, because they tend to be more independent, but I love the male dogs too, because they are more loving usually and are more friendly and playful. It just depends on your preference.
