I'm not sure about thinning out your hair, but I know that my girlfriend often has the same problem, and she finds that mousse helps control the frizzing a lot, as well as using Pantene-Pro V shampoo and a liberal amount of conditioner.

If you have thick, frizzy hair, try using Aqua Oleum Shampoo.
Try and shampoo your hair every second or third day. Frizzy hair tends to be dry, so make sure that you choose a creamy shampoo with gentle detergents. If at all possible, just blow dry the front of your hair. If it's frizzy, the heat from the blow drying is only going to add to the problem.
Look for conditioners containing silicones and proteins to coat the cuticles and reduce frizz. You can also use a leave in conditioner if your hair is still frizzing.

Just a dot of a good salon-quality pomade rubbed between your palms and smoothed on to the frizzy areas is a great quick-fix. I like Kenra's pomade because it's not too greasy or waxy and smells nice, not perfumey. Contrary to popular belief, don't overload on conditioner, just use a moderate amount of a very good salon conditioner. Some of my co-workers use Sleek Line from Matrix and have great results, but I am allergic to the scent of that line. I've also seen fabulous results from KMS Curl Up line!

My hair this very thick and heavy. I have to think it out or have them take a razor to it to get the weight off my neck. I am white and had an awful perm once. The store gave me treatments for black women and it did soften the frizz into a curl like Oprah.
I hope that helps.

The best treatment I have ever used on my thick, frizzy hair is Redken's Smooth Down Butter Treat. I makes my hair look so smooth with super shine and control. =^..^=

Explain the problem to a trusted and good hairstylist. Chances are your hair will be layered or "straightened" to control the flyaway.
At home, rinse off conditioner with cold water and apply serum on towel-dried hair.
Hope it helps

Buy some anti frizz polish and run it thru your hair. it works wonders some times.
also, do not brush your hair after you wash it. use a wide tooth comb.
brushing your hair when it is wet breaks it off and causes it to frizz.

get a relaxer and try doing a hot oil treatment to moisturize your hair. that might make it less frizzy.
