Yes, quite funny actually. Their reasoning. Just to say that there are no absolutes - they are being absolutist in making that statement! You can't say there are absolutely no aboslutes without believing an absolute! So, they do believe in God - they just don't accept that and rebel. Makes perfect sense.
So, you can respect anyone who believes anything - but allow them to force "whatever" on me - forget it! You have to be able to judge others beliefs without judging them as a person.
It's like loving people and not necessarily buying into whatever they're offering - unless of course it is true. It's good to be open to hear all different opinions but you have to do your own research and figure out what really is true.

Why do human beings care approximately yet another persons ideals? it quite is an old question, the respond to is easy. There a Heaven and a Hell, the place the soul of guy will stay perpetually based thoroughly on how that soul lives right here on earth. it quite is undemanding. the reason there are maximum of church homes is the Bible is written in a manner that keeps the lost, lost i.e... on the incorrect course. And keeps the youngster of God on the real course. All it quite is thru layout, as a results of fact the Bible says the depraved can no longer understand the way of God. yet whilst the depraved choose to play church, then there's a course for them to apply.

We certainly do. All over the world people are fighting to prove that their "god" is the one true god. Ex. Palestine, Northern Ireland, Sudan, Sri Lanka, etc... You think that your belief in a god doesn't hurt anyone... and it probably doesn't. But as a people, "our" belief in a higher being has killed millions of people in vein. Human history has proven that a belief in any god is intrinsically dangerous. If you believe that humankind can continue to believe in a god and survive this century, you will certainly be judged.

We are told NOT to Judge anyone. and I never do Judge.
But when non-believers come on here and call Christians brain washed and stupid for believeing in God. is that right? everyone should respect each other in a perfect world that will happen BUT this place is NOT perfect so there will be some will feel they have a right to Judge anyone. peace

Of course we have the right to judge other people's beliefs. If we didn't, we couldn't have beliefs of our own because it would be "wrong" to look at various ideologies and pick the one we feel is best, thereby rendering the others inferior. Should we respect the beliefs of others, as long as they're not harmful to us and they are respectful of ours? Absolutely. But there's nothing wrong with saying your beliefs are superior to other people's, and trying to convince them so. If you don't think your religious beliefs are superior to everyone else's, then you don't really believe them. You just choose to follow them.

That has to work both ways. Can you accept those that do not hold the same beliefs and respect that? It would have to be a mutual "cease fire," for that to work. I know that sounds very cynical, but both sides of this debate are very passionate.
Then there are always the people who will argue just to argue and this is always a favorite topic.

I would like to think so. I would have to say that statement goes the other way too. It takes a certain kind of person to try and force their thoughts and beliefs on another. I have heard of individual Christian people telling Atheist or non- Christians that they are wrong and mislead...and insist on trying to force their belief on them. I think that no matter what side of the coin you are looking at....people should not force their beliefs on others.

1Cr 11:31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
Whenever the bible speaks of judgement, it talks about judgeing ourselves. Judgeing righteous judgments. I do not have to "accept" your beliefs, but I should tolerate them. I think sometimes christians and non christians judge unfairly. They are condemning to others for not believing as they do. I don't expect a non christian to adhere or try to follow christian beliefs. And I don't have to prove my beliefs to you. I merely have to give reasons why I believe. And let the Holy Spirit do the convicting.

Yes, I certainly have the right to judge your beliefs. What if you belief that you have the right to kill me? Am I not allowed to judge that belief? I'm not allowed to think you might be wrong? Tell you what. Stop telling me about your beliefs and stop trying to legislate them (stop trying to end abortion, stop trying to prevent homosexual rights, stop telling me that I can't run for office because I don't believe in your god) and I'll stop judging your beliefs.

the reverse should hold as well, but it seems there are more people threatening atheists and agnostics than the other way around. We have the right to judge another person's religious beliefs when they infringe on our right to live in peace, and when what they say about their religion is a blatant lie.
