Bring as little as possible
You'll find that whatever you need is supplied or you can get to someplace (the NEX) where you can buy it anyway.

What you value as "little treasures" now will probably change after Navy Boot anyway.

The less you have, the less they can inspect...... LMAO.

When you go to boot camp don't bring anything like make-up, personal things ie ipods, mp3 players, they are taken at start of boot camp and not returned until you graduate. Bring sneakers for sure and the rest you can get while in boot camp on ur ricky week-ends.

I was there about a year ago. Pretty much bring as little as possible. The more you bring, the more its going to cost to ship home. I brought some of the stuff they said to bring on the lists and ended up having to throw some of it out. Just bring important stuff. Bank info for your pay, your bank card, and important papers they tell you to bring.

The list you saw is everything they will provide when you get there. They made everyone throw away what they brought or ship it home when i went. When you arrive you will go to ditty bag issue within a couple of hours and be given razors, shaving cream, soap, deodorant, etc. My buddies at base that are fresh out of boot camp said it hasnt changed at all.
