I had a very good male friend I used to work with. We used to spend a lot of time together and everyone knew we had feelings, we just never acted on it. A few months into us hanging out, I got back with my boyfriend. I decided I would tell my friend upfront, so as not to lead him on and to be honest. At first he was fine with it, but later in the night he said "Well, what if i was to say lets us start dating?" and I told a huge lie- regardless of my feelings I told him I wouldnt date him. I could tell it hurt him- the look on his face I will NEVER forget it. Things changed after that. We spent some time together but not as much and he ended up spending time with someone else, another girl. I know he was doing it at first to make me jealous, but i believe he is still with this girl today. He left work over a year ago and it's been a year since we've chatted. Last time we hung out he simply told me he'd "moved on" but I miss our friendship. Should I contact him again? We were very close.

Let him be.
Unless you plan to give him some "sympathy p*ssy" for old time sake, leave him alone.
You weren't true to your feelings anyway.

Yes by all means. Given everything that's happened, I think you should be honest and tell him you believe you made a big mistake back then. Otherwise he may think you're only toying with him. Also, if you can manage it, I suggest you be pretty flirty and suggestive. Almost all of us men find that hard to resist.
