I love being a United States citizen almost more than I love life itself. I'm proud of my country and all of the rights and freedoms that we have. Those rights and freedoms are etched in STONE!
I, as a citizen of the United States of America will always have access to the judicial system to redress any wrongs I feel that I have incurred.
Is my country perfect? Yes, it is.
Do I like everyone that lives here? No, I don't. Do I absolutely respect their right as guaranteed by the Constitution and the Bill of Rights to express themselves and prosper .....ya...ye...yes, I do.
As an American I understand that I have to live in a pluralistic society, or I will not truly be alive.
I LOVE BEING AN AMERICAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Asking any American where they stand on this topic is touchy. Extremely. Do I love being an American? Yes. One reason is, read the all the answers to this question. Each person has their own opinion, and we are able to speak that. Say what will about the Government, President Bush and other Americans.
Do I agree with everything that President Bush has done? Certainly Not. But I stand behind our country, our men and women in the Armed Forces.
We have many freedoms. For most of the crimes that Americans commit, we are either fined or sent to jail. We can protest what ever our hearts desire. In other countries, you would murdered. That still happens today. Be thankful for what we have, it could be worse.
I feel that everyone American prays that it does get better.

I love being an American
I do not like all Americans, nor do I agree with everyone else, but that's my American right to do, and say so.
As an American, Kallenart's post really means something to me. I could not have said it better myself. Coming from a non-US citizen makes it meaningful.
I spent 11 years of my life in the military defending the rights of ALL Americans, whether I agree with them or not. I sacrificed a lot of my personal rights and freedoms while there, but it was worth it.
So I can say that if you hate America so much, I helped afford you the right to leave. Please do if you wish-it's your right.
I also helped afford your rights to speak out against Mr. Bush, the military, and whatever else you choose, including me, because I served in the military. A double edged sword for us vets.
President Bush is just a man which America selected as their leader. If we do not like what he does as our elected leader, then it is our own fault, not his. Instead of accusing and complaining, we should use our rights as Americans to change things.
It does not matter who is elected, someone somewhere will find fault with something.
One man cannot satisfy the expectations of a whole country of individuals.

Bush as a leader is not suited for the current state of America. When we needed to come together he divided us. I certainly don't see Bush as a puppet. He operates from his own agenda as I see things. After 9/11 I never once heard anyone say, "Invade Iraq!" No one. Bush's leadership style is distasteful to the majority of Americans. Think of the "With us or against us," garbage. He runs his office like a big business, we its employees. But, through all that I still respect and support the President of the United States. I am tapping my foot waiting for 08, I'll admit it.
I love being an American and part of that is respectfully disagreeing with our leadership. It's responsible citizenship to do so. The haters seem to lose their sense of reality at times and I think that is what you see to cause you to say everyone hates Bush.

I'm not "American" nor a citizen of this country.. I'm Korean, but of the 7 years of my 13 year old life, I love this country... Although I hate Bush because of the way he makes his decision and his lack of intelligence...
Overall I like the living standards of this country(well I live in CA so, the whole country might not be good but it's amazing here!) and how people are patriotic to their own people.. I'm thinking of joining the Navy here in the future tho...

I love it here. And having been outside our borders helps reinforce that love for me. We have problems and issues but overall, there is no other country I would want to be a citizen of. Partisan politics adds to the debate for some, for me it just lets me know that not aligning myself with a particular ideology was the right choice for me. There are good and bad in both parties, I choose what works for me and dismiss the rest. We can speak freely our opinions, not worry if some government agent is going to kidnap us in the night, we can achieve as much as we are capable of, not being held back by regulations (sort of, IRS hurts everyone). I love America and I am glad to be a citizen.

As a Canadian, I think you have a perfect right to be proud of your country but your country is represented by the hard working people who go to their jobs every day from 9 to 5. I don't believe your country is represented well by your president. I see him as a smirky, smarmy despot of a man, a small man like Kim Jong Ill with a God complex. I believe he believes he is the most powerful human being on the planet ... but you know what they say about absolute power.
America is the hard-working Joe and Jane who can pray to whomever they want without being arrested by secret police and "disappeared." They can criticize their government without being executed for treason. They can live where they want, leave the country and come back if they want and physical torture is not permitted as it is in other countries. I think you all have many things to be proud of ... but George Bush isn't one of them.

Yes. If you don't then you should change it or leave it. I've been to 14 countries since joining the military, I'm convinced I'm in the best one.

I LOVE BEING AMERICAN! ANYWAYS... I think people blame Bush for our problems because he is an easy target. I don't hate Bush, but I don't necessarily agree with what he does.

Yes, I absolutely love this country and would not rather live anywhere else (no matter how crappy our government is).
Something about freedoms though, read this:
Do you love the Habeas Corpus? (i.e. "innocent until proven guilty).
Well, now our government is able to make special arrests at its leisure and hold any citizen or non-citizen indefinitely. Oh well...maybe Bush should change his name to George W. McCarthy?
