Yes, before I became a police officer, m,y father had a drinking problem and drove drunk alot. He did hurt someone once. He left, (I think I was about 15) and I called because I didn't want him or another hurt again.
It sucked... :(

Yes I have. Twice in fact. The first time I was thrown down a flight of stairs by a fm (family member) and my foot was broken. The fm was charged.
The second time I called the police was when another fm was mentally ill at the time and locked me and my friend in my bedroom and there was no way out. The police came and put my fm in handcuffs, then they let me and my friend out of my room and took fm to hospital.

It feels so gut renching to call the police on a member of your own family, but sometimes there is no other choice you just have to. Needless to say I don't have anything to do with certain members of my family anymore!

Personally, no. My mom had to call the police on my brother once because he was basically resolved to drink himself to death that night. Also once I had to take my dad's car keys away from him. I tell these stories each and every time people ask me why I'm not drinking.

Yes, my Granpaw was gonna shoot the man that told him he couldnt plant vegetables in our back yard. Granpaw had a shotgun, loaded, and was going to shoot that man. I called the policeman and they had a talk. The policeman told tghe other man that my Granpaw owned the land and could plant just about anything he wanted to. The other man got madder and hit the policeman, he was arrested. My granpaw planted the Sunflowers, and life went on.

Heck yeh. I called the police on my husband for pushing me so hard I flipped over a chair and got a black eye. I didn't want him arrested...just warned, but it didn't matter. They arrested him anyway.

I almost did because I had an uncle who was too drunk to drive and would not let anyone stop him.

No. But it shouldn't make any difference if a crime has been committed.
