Which will be best Home Theatre out of bose, Onkyo, Denon & Yamaha in a budget of around US$1000.?

- I want to buy a home theatre system
- Brands under consideration: Bose, Yamaha, Onkyo & Denon
- Budget : Around US$ 1000 including Amp, Speakers (5 channel) & DVD player
- Please advise best choice for me. Give me pros & cons of each brand.

First drop the Bose, junk.

Take your budget and split it in half.
$500 for speakers
$500 for Receiver ($400) and DVD ($100).

Prices are estimates, you may be able to find them for less.

SPEAKERS at $500 is hard, Speakers are the most important part, the best i could come up with at this price in a short time is:
Infinity TSS-750 $499 (5.1 package)

RECIEVERS: You can't really go wrong with any of these just pick the features you like the best, Everybody has their brand but most the parts in all of these are made by the same manufactures.

Again pick what you like, for $100 if it breaks buy another.

Bose - Overpriced, marketing expertise over sound quality and performance

Yamaha - Good value with quite a few features

Denon - Very good performance, not impressed with reliability

Onkyo - Very good performance with receivers

I would recommend going with the following system...

- Onkyo mid-level receiver
- Hsu Research VT-12 with one of their powered subs
- Pioneer Elite universal DVD player

This is an impressive system at a reasonable price that can be
found online directly from the manufacturer or from competitive
merchants. An excellent value IMHO.

Anyone of these except Bose should be good (based on my experiences). I found Bose to be overpriced and more decore friendly instead of seriously functional. Onkyo, Denon and Yamaha typically "build" their systems with a/v receivers that you can perform more functions and add sources to down the road. Their speakers tend to be better also. Should you decide to "upgrade" the speakers or the receiver, not a real problem.
Bose is usually an all in one system. The speakers must be used with the rest of the system or it may not sound right. Adding extra sources can be a problem also. I found some functions to be limited (if they existed in the first place). Upgrading looks nearly out of the question. Take your pick.

Just adding to what hogie0101 said. You can find a better Onkyo receiver than that at Ebay. I bought my Onkyo TX-SR 703 THX Select 2 receiver brand new for about $450. Also another good place to find speakers.

If you are crazy and wants to go for it go for DENON S 301
that is the best

second and third is onkyo or yamaha that is the pros and con
of this. good luck

I would say Denon also.

For speakers HSU has a 5.1 surround with sub for around $500.00 . A very good deal. Go to HSU.com.
