Dear believers in Islam, have you read the Koran? Why or why not?
Dear believers in Christ, have you read the Bible? Why or why not?

I just think that if we are going to believe in something, we should read it first hand rather than just listen to what other people say about it.

We are so blessed to have eyes and to be able to read (A very new concept for a large group of people)

and the bible says, "only a fool believes everything you tell him."

I have a translation of Qur'an in my language, which basically has a glossary of hundreds of words and page reference. It's structure is wonderful and helpful. I can find all the verses related to any topic. Let's say if I want to know what Qur'an says about Jesus, I look it up, and then go through all the verses from different chapters relating/containing Jesus.

But I don't dare to reach a decision just by reading translation. If I have a question, I look it up in Islamic websites.

As a regular Muslim without profound knowledge of Arabic, I am not able to realize the deep core meaning of the verses. Still I read it for general idea.

I am Wiccan and have tried to read the Bible but it gets very dry. Haven't had a chance to read the Koran as of yet but will hopefully get around to it sooner or later. I have read about 15-20 Wiccan books and I am continuing to read about one a month. So far I have to say my favorite author is Scott Cunningham.

For those who haven't found out yet, Wiccans will usually refer to a Book of Shadows as our 'holy book' but what this is is actually a book that we write ourselves of our own experiences of Wicca. Our traditions are not carved in stone but are written in the sky.

I love to read the Bible, I do it at least once a day, and have read the whole thing several times.
Why? Because it is the infallible Word of God, and it shows the way to eternal life.

I am a Christian Jehovah's Witness and I have read it in several different translations many times and am constantly reading it all the time. I believe that God reveals himself through his word as we are ready to absorb it's truth and every time I read it, I learn more and understand more fully.

I have read bits and pieces of the Qu'ran and found a lot of it to be okay. I simply do not believe what they believe and so it is nothing more than research for me.
