I am sorry that this is happening to you and that your family is suffering due to it. My grandfather is an alcoholic so I can understand how badly it can affect everyone, though I never experienced this with my immediate family. The law requires that you must 16 to work in most states. I understand your worries about things in your home but you are still very young and this is the responsibility of family to support you especially during school age. Study study study. That will be the best benefit for your family's future if you complete your education as well as continue some sort of trade school or go to university. That will make your life best for you and though now it seems easier to choose supporting your family it could be a distraction to you and at some point hold you back.
My husband was different his father was not alcoholic but his father died when he was studying in university. His family had a lot of money problems and he helped as much as he could with odd jobs but he focused on his education. He accomplished a BA in Political Science, MA Political Science, MSc Mass Communication. As a result he had a dream job working for News& Current Affairs as a Producer. Yes this is TV production and a job of a lifetime. He stood by his family but continued to work hard and to acheive his dreams and success. Now he is high ranking in the military and he has earned all of it through hard work.
So my advice to you is to try and find some jobs near your home (like cutting the lawn/landscaping, painting someone's house, offering to wash windows at a grocery store etc) Whatever kind of little job you can find. Sometimes even elderly people need a hand for getting groceries, medicine, house chores, or someone to just sit with them. Babysitting is also a way to earn a little bit. But don't rush into anything that interferes with your studies and maybe do things on weekends to help out. You are a very good kid for wanting to help your family and God will watch over you and your family.

I admire you're desire to help your family by getting a job. I know it must be rough on you & your mom. But, the best thing you can do is focus on your education. In the long run that will be the best help you can give your family.
Perhaps your dad would be open to going to AA meetings or some family counseling? I understand how your dad feels. You see at age 32 I suffered a stroke. I lost the use of my left hand & now it just shakes all the time. I was demoted at work. I lost alot of my work abiilies. I have to have help doing a lot of things. It can be very frustrating, especially when you feel useless. But, you must encourage your dad not to give up. His legs do not make him a man any more than only being able to use 1 hand makes me a good employee. It's who you are as a person that counts.
Hopefully you can help your father to see that & your family can begin to heal.

I think your dad should file for social security for his disability, they'd give him money and medical coverage. My mom's on that. I think your dad/mom should talk to someone at a special needs office in your city for other resources. Your dad could volunteer or get a job his self, there are laws so disable people can get jobs too. I don't think you need to get a job yet. You are still a kid. My mom was really sick and I had to grow up too fast and I miss not being abled to do all the kid things. I think you need to get help from the resources in your community instead.

I really feel sorry for you. what I would suggest for you to do at that age is try to find someone to babysit. Babysitting can earn you some money and will get u out of ur house for a bit and let u relax w/ kids

They likely meant under no circumstances take a piercing gun for your own ear. Claire's has pierced thousands and thousands of ears, so if there change right into a topic with the way they did it, you may want to in all danger learn about it.

idk maybe at a pet store walking dogs or something but they usually hire if ur at least 16 tho im not sure so u can ask around. Babysitting is good but not at your house since ur dad is there. ummmmm
Who buys beer, alcohol for him if he can't walk? Does he get it himself? He needs to be out of the house for your sake at least! He needs immediate help.
Maybe you need to tell your teachers so they can help you and be a little bit easier on you. Best wishes to you & ur family.

You are going through very hard times. I would try and contact any relatives to see if they can help you get a job or try some fast food places. God Bless.

Don't worry too much. Look up in the yellow pages and you should choose a job that you would take interest in.
