Florida gets many immigrants from Cuba because of the law allowing them to claim asylum.
What are your views on this? Should they be deported or kept?
Why can Cubans claim asylum but not Mexicans?

People, I'm not saying deport them or that they're wrong to be here or even that it's right. I just want to hear opinions. That's all.
I'm genuinely interested in people's views on Cuban immigration/asylum.

I KNOW what you've said already. The question was formed like that to pose the question of whether or not them getting asylum is a good thing in the answerers' opinions.
If you want to hear my opinion on the matter, since some of you don't understand I'm only asking a question. I'm fine with Cubans coming over here. I like having multiple cultures and I think we should help those that want a better life for themselves.
But if you can't see that a question I write is simple just to stir up some debate, then you need to get off of Y! Answers!

Mexicans can come here, whether they do it legally or not is another matter. Mexicans also ostensibly have a fair degree of political and religious freedom within Mexico.
The reason Cubans get the green light is simple. Cubans have no such freedoms. Cuba's government is a communist dicatorship.

Hopefully when Castro dies everything will change. I don't intend to sound mean about the ailing dictator but he is the main reason we can't formally deport Cubans back to the mother land.
Lets see what happens with Castro's successor. Will he take his poor Cubanitos back? Deport all the illegal INFIDELS!
Anyone can claim asylum.

You aren't nice, so how can you request anyone else here to be so?
If the law allows Cubans to claim asylum then they aren't illegal, are they? Think about what you posted above.
Instead of hating the Cubans, why don't you write something to your legislators and the President to promote reforming immigration?

Deport all unskilled workers. I want everyone that is skilled/educated/talented to move to the USA but if you do not fall into one of those three categories, sorry you're getting the boot.
