Me being a hairdresser I would want you to be happy. If you were to tell me that you did not like it I would do everything in my power to get you were you wanted to be. If she is a professional she will redo it for free because it makes her look bad.

"I got excited about her idea...I feel like it's sort of my fault because I agreed to her new plan"
There's the gist of the problem. It's not that she 'incorrectly' coloured your hair, you weren't firm enough with her to say "no".
Just like yourself, hairdressers become excited over their clients' wishes for a change. She probably became all excited and thought that you liked her idea, too. You've learnt a valuable lesson from this. Firstly, learn to be firm and say "no" and, secondly, accept that trying something new won't always be to your taste.

Me personally know that when someone comes to you wanting a particular style do what they ask and not what u want, mainly b'cause they are paying us good $$$ and u guys should get what u are paying for and we all know that color is not cheap! U should have let her know that you was'nt satisfied. Never be to shy to let them know, after all it is your $ that's becoming our. And depending on what type of person she is, she should have corrected the color with a toner or what ever she need to do or gave you the next service free or 1/2 off . But your next appt. with her, if it will be another one let her know, cause she's not going to know if you don't tell her.

like you said, you let her talk you out of it. hairdressers are good at doing that especially if they dont know how to do what your requesting. but it totally depends on the salons policy. you said you got excited about it, you have to stand your ground with hairdressers or you'll always come ot unsatisfied with the results.

Dear it all depends on you.
If you want ur hairdresser to redo, he/she is left with no option, just be blunt and straight wht u want say them “u r nt happy with ths. Either they shud do it free of cost again or ask them to permit you to do his/her hair colour acc to ur imagination”
Then see the results
Rest please asks them for refund and get it done from sum more experienced guy. Bcaz redoing will be knowingly spoiling your hair form untalented person.
I say my hairdresser in very beginning that if the job is good I’ ll give him the actual charges + sum monetary appreciation for good job.
But if he /she fails, I take assurance from them that i ll give them similar service free of cost.Bcaz promising refund will not give me back my original look.
This alert is enough for the salon Manager to give my job to sum really xperinced chik.

i am not sure.. but next time if you go to hair dresser.. tell her or him what you wanted.. then ask her some ideas... or if bring picture in for them so they can get the way you wanted it... I did that with every hair dress i went too.. and they give me ideas and my hair came out nice... I just went to a hair dress like month ago.. and i took the picture to them.. and she did her best with my hair because i have nice black hair and i wanted to look like picture hair style and color.. and she said she would try to do that... and that picture was with brown hair and blond hair lights... and it came out like the Asian version of that person.. and you can always go to another hair-dresser...

I would call the salon and ask to speak to a manager or owner and let them know what happened. They don't HAVE to give you anything, but hopefully they will be understanding. Good luck.

Honestly, this all depends on where you got this done. Some places will, some places won't. Sorry for the short answer, but it's true.

thats a tough one....if it were me, I would ask her to take another at how the color "set"[its only a slight lie, looks different in sunlight etc] & ask for a light "color rinse" to "balance" it out...if she agrees, get her to adjust it to more the color you wanted....if she disagrees to any of this, go to her boss & explain the whole story....if SHE owns the salon......you may have to bite the bullet???
