Based on old testament practices Jews slaughtered animals to rid themselves of sin. The high priest would go into the temple and behind the veil into the Holy of Holies and sprinkle blood on the ark of the covenant. Today no one knows where the ark of the covenant is and the temple is not under Jewish control. Christians believe that after the Christ died sacrifices were no longer nessecary because the Messiah had come. But the Jews don't beleive Christ is the Messiah. They are still waiting, so what do they do to absolve sin now?

Offerings and Sacrifices were just part of atoning for sin.

They can:redeem themselves with the wronged party through action. And redeem themselves to G-d through dilligence, confessions and prayer.

Just my understanding of it.

Blessings
David

According to scripture, there is no remission of sins without the shedding of blood. I understand what your saying but let me add a wrinkle, not only do they not have control over the temple, but they have no temple at all. The temple mount is merely the place where the temple last stood. Outside of Christ there is no forgiveness of sins. The bible states that some day there will be another temple and the sacrifices will go on for a time, but now, even according to their own beliefs, they are unable to do sacrifice so have no forgiveness. I believe, from my understanding that they handle things differently From what I have read they have in the last year, for the first time in thousands of years, they have a jewish judicial religeous system set up, called the Sanhedrin. It is a prophetic step in the right direction and very encouraging to christian and jew alike.

Messianic Jews absolve their sins by the Blood of Christ. Orthodox Jews, though loved by God, have rejected Christ and are living in sin.

not true.

In old testament times Jews did not use animals to get rid of sin. Read the book of Ester. Is their a single sacrifice in there? What about Jonah? Nothing.

The Prophets disparaged all such outer manifestations of repentance, insisting rather on a complete change of the sinner's mental and spiritual attitude. They demanded a regeneration of the heart, i.e., a determined turning from sin and returning to God by striving after righteousness. "O Israel, return unto the Lord thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity. Take with you words, and return unto the Lord: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and accept us graciously: so will we render as bullocks the offerings of our lips" (Hos. 14:1-2, Hebrew). "Rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the Lord your God: for he is gracious and full of compassion, slow to anger and plenteous in mercy, and repenteth him of the evil" (Joel 2:13).

Repentance brings pardon and forgiveness of sin (Isaiah 55:7). Outside of repentance the prophets and apostles know of no way of securing pardon. No sacrifices, nor religious ceremonies can secure it. Not that repentance merits forgiveness, but it is a condition of it. Repentance qualifies a man for a pardon, but it does not entitle him to it.

monks have the authority from God once they have been ordained. monks do no longer absolve you out of your sins,God does. The Priest is a mediator between God and the guy who's confessing their sins. The Catholic Church became the first ordinary Church depending by God .All different denominations got here later. i'm surely surprised at different solutions in this placed up. they do no longer comprehend what they say.and different ridiculous solutions are by Christians. They declare to understand all about the Catholic Church and what it teaches yet they don't seem Catholic themselves.they commonly quote the "Bible, yet which version.?The Jewish Bible. the Catholic Bible, the Protestant Bible.they are all seriously distinct from one yet another.Plus there are over 50 distinct variations of the Bible in English on my own.!they ought to get their information instantly previously they ridicule somebodys faith .The devil is triumphing souls from God such as his deceitful techniques EDIT....... One answerer suggested "THE CATHOLIC CHURCH is likely actually one of the substantial source OF the vast majority of complications contained in the international immediately" ok the position is your information? what information have you acquire ? have you ever suggested this out of frustration because you've responsible someone? What about Terrorism and Corrupt Governments? The worlds ravenous human beings? .What have you ever finished to make contributions to the international's complications.? no longer something? . God made all of us .God loves all of us. God has requested us to love each and every of us also.no longer what they do, or belong to, or save on with a particular faith. None of this comes into it. UNCONDITIONAL LOVE is what God would like us to have for each human being He ever created because thats what He supplies to everyone.. that's the reason it really is problematical at circumstances to love someone like you.yet when i do not love you ,i do not love God. it really is that straight forward. that's the biggest element of the Catholic faith we attempt to do and also you do not favor the Bible to inform you what you would possibly want to do. Love is the purely element that concerns. Do you've unconditional love for all of God's children ?Pope John Paul 11 forgave the guy who tried to kill him.might want to you do this? someone suggested "idol worship." What are you speaking about ?
