Infection is the only big issue, and sometimes the upper teeth connect into a sinus cavity, so the antibiotic and stitches are worth visiting a dentist. If the tooth is bothering it may already be decayed or broken and not come out in one piece, or you may have a root canal issue that will require dental attention anyways. If you remove it it is going to bleed, you will need oral pain killer and to rinse with warm saltwater probably five times a day, do not spit as this will start the bleeding again, or suck on anything, etc. and make sure it does not get infected, feel hot, swell up or ooze pus. It's too close to your brain to risk a serious infection that can turn into meningitis if you think you have a problem. Save the tooth in case you do need to visit an orthodontist, the first thing they would do is xray your mouth.

You'll have no trouble getting the soft top part out, but in order to get the root out, you're going to have to go digging between the root and the bone with a very slim but extremely strong instrument - kind of exactly like dentists have and know how to use. If you don't do this, you will end up with an infection (if you don't have one already) and more pain than you can imagine. If you do have an infection and try to remove your own tooth, you'll just push it deeper into your jaw bone and end up in bad shape. Those "shards of tooth" will be at the bottom of a hole that is only 4 or 5 mm wide, but 15-20 mm deep. Be careful not to damage the nerve at the bottom of the hole if it's a lower tooth, because this could leave your lip numb for the rest of your life. And whatever you do, don't puncture your maxillary sinus if it's an upper tooth, or you will end up in the hospital with an infection.
The trick to getting teeth out smoothly is to ask someone who has done a hundred or a thousand to do it for you. I'm sure I could not do what you do for a living and you should not try to do what I do for a living. We could both get into a lot of trouble and I know that at least one of us could hurt themselves.

You won't save money at all! You will probably have medical bills from your trip to the ER and the dentist since the ER will tell you to see a dentist. If you are really lucky you'll miss the trip to the ER but get to pay to extract the rest of the tooth you broke off and left behind. A routine or surgical extraction runs $100-300 or so but a surgical extraction of root tips when they have to go digging for what you left behind then have to knock you out since you traumatized yourself will cost you well over $500.

Don't pull your own tooth. Go to a dentist. You don't know exactly whats causing your pain. Your problem could be bigger than just that one tooth.
Former President William Taft died from one infected tooth.

i dont recommend to pull it, because it can be more than just the tooth. go to the dentist and just have em do an oral exam and check out whats going on and let them tell you what needs to be done, and then you decide what u want to do. at least u can know for a fact whats going on with that tooth, and the range of prices to have that fixed. and let me just say that most of the time, its more than just the tooth, and usually there is an infection, so pullin the tooth out will just make it worse. and also ur teeth will all shift because of the gap, so if u have a good smile, and want to keep it that way...go to the dentist.

Don't do it. You could be lucky and get it out in one piece, but it will be painful, and if it should break you will have a real problem. Have a dentist do it; there will be anesthetic, and if there is a problem the dentist can fix it.

Better to pay the price and get it fixed. If you pull it , the other ones will tilt into the space.10 years from now you'll be glad you did

IF $ IS NOT A PROBLEM, SEE A DENTIST FOR A QUICK EXTRACTION. IF THE TOOTH IS VERY LOOSE YOU MIGHT NOT EVEN NEED AN ANESTHETIC INJECTION.

you can try, but better to go to a dentist...otherwise if you leave a root in, the pain will still be there and you'd still need to go to a dentist...
