is it okay to take a shower after you get a perm as long as you don't shampoo your hair?

No don't get your hair wet for 24 hours after getting a perm.

No!!!! Before going to Beauty school I remember watching Legally Blonde and what did that blonde say? No! Why? Because of the chemicals so its best to just take a soothing bath. Even my clients, after giving them a perm they take a bath, now maybe the next day should be okay, but if you just have to take a shower, I suggest you use a plastic cap and a shower cap on top of that to make sure your hair does'nt get wet at all okay :)

I thought the whole point of getting a perm was to make your hair more manageable. If you're not keeping some sort of hairstyle, go for it! Just use some conditioner and blow your hair back out when you're done! Otherwise, wrap that hair, roll it up, shower cap it, cover it in a plastic bag, then when you KNOW you've got enough protection, jump in the shower. Hey! The ancient Yoruba have a whole culture dedicated to preserving a woman 's hairstyle (and some of those head stands look real uncomfortable). Some of that's got to rub off on us, right?

what kind of perm\?
a straight perm you perm ur hair then you can get in the shower rinse it out really well then apply nuetralizing shampoo to deactivate the perm then rinse out shampoo then wash hair 2 more times with reg shampoo then condition hope i helped

Yes, you can get your hair wet but make sure you do not get any shampoo or SOAP in you hair. This will break down the perm.

yes, If your perm was done well, there should be no ill effects. If the smell is your issue...use a little conditioner & cool water

most people say yes but you want to minimize the amount of water you put on your hair. You really should pull it up loosely and then if you want to restyle your hair, spritz it with a water bottle. It may not be your perfect idea of a hairstyle but if you want to keep your curl, I would recommend you really wait if you can.

it ok to take shower.. try not to wet your hair... you get puff if you wash your hair...after perm... and not suppost to wash your hair after 24 hours... of perm or color..my style told me that...
