Is there a difference between a Muslim and an Islamic?

In the news you hear people being described as Muslims and as Islamics (or Islamists) and I was wondering if there is a difference, or are the two words interchangeable to describe the same people?

there's no difference. Islam is the religion. People who believed in Islam are known as muslims. Muslim is a more common word than islamic. however both of them means the same. for more info. maybe you should try

Islamists is a term that the fascist Bush and his allies have created. There is no such thing as an "islamist" There is Islam and the Muslim is one who follows the religion of Islam. Its Like saying "americanist" or "christianist" or "Fascist" "racist" He's obviously trying to make Islam into some sort of cult or nationality or foreign ideology

A Muslim is someone who follows Islam.
An "Islamic" was something made up by the Media or Bush cabinet or someone. Its aggravating.

Christians are followers of Christianity.....Muslims are followers of Islam....
Islam means believing in God. (literally)
Islam is noun while Islamic is an ajective.

I don't know. But I do know that they are not peaceful as they claim. The scream "Death to America and Israel!" and then turn around and say, "Why not try islam? We are very peaceful and gave woman her rights."
It makes me sick. I am a peaceful person who loves America and respects the dignity of each human person.
