Is there a time and place for taking a stance against something?

Of course. If you sit by and allowing criminal activity, just for example, because you're living and just letting live, you are contributing to the problem by not reporting it.

There are many more instances where it's appropriate to take a stand. What makes you think that living and letting live is lying flat and allowing atrocities and injustices to happen?

You've heard that you're either part of the problem or part of the solution, right? Sometimes being part of the solution is taking a stand.

Yes. Take a stance against those who OPPOSE the "live and let live" philosophy.

Namely, the Christians politicians.

If you are a big supporter of "Live and let live." you might remember that Patric Henry was too. He said, "Give me liberty or give me death." I'd say he was rather committed to that idea. I believe that our American democracy is worth supporting even if it means that we speak out against the President's unjustifiable war or the war in Vietnam that supported a puppet dictator and not democracy.
I believe that one should support our Constitution and our Bill of Rights even if it means arguing their meaning occasionally.

Definitely. Jesus did so in the temple. You take a stand when somebody is hurting someone. You take a stand against injustice, unfairness. When the poor and the weak are being oppressed.

The Bible says there is--it says that we should take a stand against wickedness and sinfulness and warn the wicked--that way, we may actually be able to save another--and we will save ourselves even if we don't because we have obeyed God's wishes.

Yes.

When we see people are being hurt by following their wills or emotions it is a good time to take a stand......if they are willing to listen.

If they will not see what you are standing on is right and good, there is little that you can do. But for people you really care about, it's worth a try to save them from trouble.

Absolutely. When people cross the line. When someone stops offering suggestions for your good, and starts offering them to fulfill their agendas/desires. Then you say "WHoa!"

It really is helping them, cuz you are empowering them otherwise.
