I believe there is only one God.
The fact that Jews call him YHVH, muslims call him Allah, Christians call him Jehovah, Hawaiians call him E'O, Sioux indians call him Wakan Tanka, Taoists call him the Tao; etc.
All of the different names are totally irrelevent. I believe everyone is a Child of God, and God hears us no matter what name we use.

The way the Bahai teach it, is that each prophet sent by God is like a history teacher addressing the people at that time. Each teacher has a vision of humanity's past and future, and helps to pave the way forward. But there is only so much each person can address at one time, so the rest is left to the next messenger. It is like going through grade school, where each teacher builds on where the previous classes left off.
Thus, the message may come out differently to address different times and cultures; but together all the religions, messengers, prophets, and teachers collectively guide the way.
I look at religions as different "languages" for universal laws or teachings -- these can be expressed as divine laws or natural laws under secular systems such as science, philosophies or ethics, and civil laws.
Instead of religions competing or trying to discredit each other, I prefer to integrate them into one all-encompassing system similar to how mathematical systems evolved. Each time a new range of numbers or relations was discovered, new symbols were created to express those patterns, values or systems. The given system was "expanded" to add more notations, such as for 0 and also for irrational numbers that were previously considered nonexistent. I would rather use religions this way, where all the knowledge is added together, rather than misrepresent them as contradictory systems. I find that when religions are interpreted and applied with respect to universal truths, they naturally agree in truth and are harmonious; only when a religion or system is abused or misinterpreted to contradict itself does it also conflict with other religious systems as well. Thus, any such conflict can and should be resolved so that all religious systems can be reconciled and none misinterpreted.

♥♪♦♫ You make good sense and I do believe that too, but I think that it goes like this remember in the Book of John where God said swallow this scroll and it will be sweet in your mouth but bitter in your stomach, I believe their are 12 tribes and within these 12 tribes their are a leader but like you I believe there is only one God. These 12 tribe leaders are like management and they all sit at a long table and have discussions about each and everybody because God gave them all certain powers to help us who believe, and when things get too bad they call on God. The 12 managers have names Allah, Jesus, El Shaddai and etc, they all have a say so over their religion for example Jesus would have to manage all Christians and so on and so forth. I believe the scroll that was swallowed had all the names of management, I also believe that it had the way to the tree of life and the way to salvation for all nations, I also believe that it was the way to peace on earth because I think this is the last Holy War then after this Our Lord and Savior will come.♥♪♦♫

There are many different ways and paths and religions that help a person to develop inner peace and calm. But my friend, we are all going to die one day and be standing before the Judgement throne of God and we will either be going to Hell or living with Jesus in Heaven. There is a great book out (I cannot remember the name but the bookstore people will know) by a guy who went on a quest to prove that the Bible wasn't true. Know what? He became a Christian because he could not prove the Bible wrong.
My friend, Jesus Christ is the ONLY way to eternal salvation in Heaven, no matter what religion you try to follow to give you inner peace. There is only one path to Heaven and Jesus is it.

I do believe there is only one God and you are right to say
there are different interpretations. We have to understand God existed long before Christ,Buddha, Mohamed came on the scene. People were already worshipping God the way they know how in their era, in their custom & traditional practices. Sad to say, religion now is more about money making, society club & business networking. None of us in any religion can judge who will
be saved at the end times. Only God can judge so as the saying goes; "To each his own"

Yes I do believe in one Supreme Being. What you're talking about looks a lot like the teachings of the Baha'i Faith. The Baha'i Faith teaches that the various religions of the world are revelations from a single God and are all part of a single plan.

No. There is no evidence for any supreme being. But your surmise about the authors is correct. As for peace between the religions, when the Muslims turn Osama bin Laden over to the FBI, I'll have some hope for it, but not until then.

There can be peace if we understand first that the fundamentalist Muslims want to take over the world by force. The Koran gives them permission to lie to Christians Jews and Infidels and to kill them.
In USA we need to make a law against them from practicing here. I heard it said that they are trying to institute Islamic law in England. ENGLAND AN ISLAMIC STATE. And next the USA.
We can't let political correctness kill us.

I believe in two beings, male and female, god and goddess, black and white, ying and yang, for there is always two and never one. And yes, as time has gone on, MAN has created his own story of what this energy is, and the rewritten it over and over to suit those who are in power or want more power at the time. I'm going to stop there...or else you'll get me on a rant...then I'm unstoppable.
Man doesn't want peace. He wants power and control and chaos.

I believe in a creator. Not God. Not Allah. Not Yahweh. A creator.
Drop all the religious bullshit and start living your life before it's too late.
