Hi there...sorry I was heated...spent most of the evening on the phone with police.

Some of you dont believe a girl was here last night asking questions about suicide, if G-d forgives it, what prayers to read at a funeral, etc. Well it happened, from the bottom of my heart, ON the BIBLE I swear. If you really want proof, email me.

She got many responses telling her how G-d is fake, and only a few asking if she is ok, or needed someone to listen. I told her i was a psych major, and will listen with no BIble at all.

She emailed me this morning before she said she was about to commit suicide. I am still waiting on police to hear the answer.

ANYWAYS.....all I am saying is sorry for the outburst...and when we see someone new, asking questions like that, lets put the agendas down for a moment.

Everyone agree??

BLess u all
David

I remember her. She asked if someone who committed suicide would go to hell, then asked if family members could ever forgive one who commited suicide. It was difficult to tell whether she was asking for herself or perhaps one of her loved ones had committed suicide and she was wondering if they were going to hell, and if she could/should forgive them. I tried to answer her kindly, and according to my beliefs. There were a lot of sh*t answers. One always wonders how their answer might affect one in this position, but I always take it seriously even if I'm not sure. Better safe than sorry.

Please let us know about this young girl ...

Hey David i didnt see her post. i do find your story very sad. As an Atheist. I feel very sorry. Im glad you were there. Religion is a horrible divisive issue. I try not to be mean if i think the person is young. I think the lesson is that parents should keep an eye on what kids are doing online. Also i think that we can all be insensitive at times.( including me)

I think nobody should make a joke no matter what religion they are if someone is talking about suicide they should just find a suicide hotline and post it for them so they can call it. Let the pros handle it. If someone is posting about killing themself they are crying out for help.

if you need my help u can email me

I really think we need to be a little more serious here instead of asking sex questions and shush Instead of being childish and writing hurtful outburst things to people. I think we should stop the game playing.
I don't know about you yet, but I am really here to try and help as much as I can. Refer the ones who need it .
Last week I was spammed from someone on this board because I really felt he needed help. Then he emailed me and told me I was terrible.
When he could not accept my opinion . I never wrote anything mean or cruel just concerned about him sounded like a cry for help to me which is what I wrote back to him..
Askme.com was wonderful they did not allow the junk that's allowed here To bad there out of commission now.
Hope she was OK. I used to work a hotline.

I dealt with a similar incident a few weeks ago. And a few years ago when my daughter (who was 14 then) had a boyfriend who shot himself in the head because he had too much pressure to be perfect. I will pray for the child's family and ask God to help those who turned he away with lies and insults. Good uck David...i will pray for you as well, that perhaps you can be of service to this person's family as they deal with this horrible tragedy....especially at this time of year.

Amen! Even if you don't believe in God, my atheist friends, you should encourage a person who is in this situation. You would want someone to reach out to you in a time of need. David, continue to perservere. I've read your posts in this forum and you are a wise man. BE blessed!

Actually, I'm still really mad at you for your comments on hell and for assuming that we would have nothing other than "God doesn't exist" to offer someone that needs help.

I don't give insincere forgiveness. Once I am able, you will have it. But for the moment, you need to think some more about what you said and about your piss poor attitude.

Anyone who gets ANY enjoyment AT ALL about the idea of someone - anyone - being in hell ought to be mad at themselves.

David, for once you are right. Some people are God-dependent, and literally can't keep it together without Him in their lives. Atheists who smash faith without providing alternative sources of meaning are not doing humanity a favor. I try hard not to be that sort of atheist, and I don't even try to smash faith in those who don't ask to take part in debate.

Depression is fairly prevalent in our culture and particularly in winter and around holidays.
There are a lot of people on line who have no friends and have feelings of hopelessness.
Most people get over it, some do not.

I agree with you...

I'm always concerned about those who mention suicide, no one mentions it just to joke.

I don't really care what a person's religion, race or anything is. If I can help, I always try to.

God bless you for you concern David... let us know if you hear anything about her.

Peace.

bless you David, I have seen several on here with the same questions, and tried to dissuade them I hope it worked, it is amazing how heartless some of these people are, i only hope it is children trying to play grownup.
however there are a lot of caring compassionate non believers on here that do not have to prove themselves, they already have.
